Do you stricly enforce the 4 hour rule on yourself and others..?

Typically I dock and swap to one of my other characters and go about doing something else somewhere else. What really stinks is when nearly every one of your ships has been engaged and destroyed ... you're on your last character ... and someone wants to make scrap of your smuggler. Yeah ... that was a fun night.

I dont enforce it at all on other people, nor do I enforce it on myself unless they say something. It's there to stop people from re-engaging, and as long as they dont re-engage me I could care less.

Well, I usually only PvP with my Liberty Lawful char, and usually, when I get shot down, I either quit playing her for the next couple of hours (happened only once anyways, I know when to retreat). I have to admit though that I sometimes did not exactly follow the 4 hour rule if I got shot down just because some PvP-kiddy felt like doing it (if that's the case, I RP that my ship got heavily damaged, but not destroyed).

I don't usually enforce it. I expect that if I kill someone they'll leave by themselves, or at least stay away from me. And if I see them in the system, I won't engage them even if they're fighting one of my allies, cause I consider the re-engagement rule to apply to both sides.
I also don't care if some cruises to catch up to me while I'm using thrusters to escape.

I only have characters apart from my trader in the Liberty ZOI right now, so if I die I pretty much have to log off.

I got another question though, what if you die as a Liberty Lawful at the hands of Liberty Rogues, and then you swap to your own Liberty Rogue character. You clearly wouldn't have any intentions of re-engaging, would you be allowed to enter the same system you just died in?

technically speaking you wouldnt be allowed to return even if you brought a character on the other side of the combat you just died in. the rule says you cannot log in with anything -- the only exception i can think of is if u log in with admin rights.

its a tough rule, but its so dangerous to try to bend. usually no one really minds if people log back in or whatever because everyone knows its just a fight and theres no hard feelings. after lal more the merrier. but i saw some sanctions the other day where the admin ship is at the far edge of detection and he sees someone log out and in and wham hes sanctioned. this may be the case even though all your colleagues tacitly dont mid u relogging in.

its very hard.
