Dundee... Dundee... I'm here for two years, but name doesn't ring a bell.

On a more serious note, I'm more interested into on how Gallia went into Taus without jumpgates. Jump Drives? You know, as you can remember from original lore, only freighter-sized (actually, transports, as seen in Vanillia as well - not sure if it was intentional or left and overlooked by DA) would jump through jumpholes at the best.

Reason was that big ship would seriously destabilize the hole or have fatal outcome. I've read somewhere that one liner tried to jump through jumphole in order to escape pirates. It ended up with only half of the ship appearing on the other side, with all crew and passangers killed by depressurisation.

The system was only used when it was specifically the site of Events, so I don't think it'd be missed sorely.

Its a pretty system, but other than that it doesnt add a lot of content. I wouldnt be too sorry if its gone, if some other systems get some love instead.

I am surprised that the dev team is divided on a system which serves only in spreading activity and reducing interactions.

The solution is simple... DELETE DUNDEE PLEASE!

Dundee as a system have nearly no usefulness than that it is part of Bretonia and was mentioned in the lore few times. A lot of events were there but aside from them - very little to do so far.
It was a very nice farming place before few years where you could collect few hundreds fleet admirals for easy cash - that actually made it quite active but yet again it was not the system disco would benefit so much.

Bretonian community was promised long ago 2 new systems - New Cambria and New Anglia. They were in the mod (maybe even now) but the connections to them were never established. Both of them could be useful (Cambria was mining system similar to Dublin but possibly with new resources), while Anglia was something like Newcastle (a lot of planets, a shipyard and few bases but also a planet...like Sprague for colonization).
So a troublesome fact is that Bretonia "lost" these 2 systems and later they lost "Salisbury" and now are about to lose "Dundee", so 4 systems to be taken away from this House is going to force the players to remain at...Leeds, Manchester and Dublin (primary) like they don't know these places. This is leading to lack of interest and activity since everything is "old".
Also making Bretonia smaller will indeed affect its RP/lore - of losing systems - which happens to be a habit.

Since "removing Dundee" is Bretonian community issue I think something as a compromise would be welcomed:
- For example Chester is out there totally useless in the RP and no events were planned for it. Perhaps if removing systems is priority now - removing this one would be better than Dundee.
- If the Nomad city in Chester is of importance (due to being a staging point for the nomads) then it could be placed somewhere in Dundee - making it more interesting place.
- Another thing would be to turn one of the planets in Dundee to be able for colonization (leading to future possible scenarios similar to "Sprague")

If removing systems is necessity then that should be done by improving the other ones, to the point where the system being removed wont be missed at all.

No, the problem is different. Introducing new systems and stuff was a practice of the past. Based on the current Discovery population we cannot afford to spread the activity even more.

If you want "new" things, that can be achieved by advancing the storyline. Which has the advantage of not being at expense of spreading the players even more from each other.

I think from an outsider's perspective I'm probably as native Bretonian as it's possible to be. Dundee is useless and might as well be deleted. It was yet another failed experiment into warzone systems that didn't pay off.

I also strongly contest the idea that Bretonia needs to be given something else to compensate, almost like bribing a kid with sweets to go to the dentist. I don't see why? The 'Latin' systems weren't included because they were a bad idea, and pulling fully developed systems out the ether is sketchy as hell.

At the end of the day, if dundee is removed it'll be because no-one is interested in it or using it. All of the systems Fallen listed could also be described that way, as well as being badly designed on top of that. Practically Bretonia isn't losing anything.

Even though Dundee isn't usefull at all at this point. Removing more systems from Bretoia isn't exaclty good idea, either. The devteam should probly focus more on repurposing the systems rather than just delete them, ending up with making Bretonia smaller and smaller each time.

My recommendation would be to link Lewis directly to both Edinburgh and Newcastle instead of needing Dundee as an intermediary. The only stations in Dundee are a few battleships and a completely random, unused Molly base.
