Surely its not the thrusters causing the issue but the armour in that scenario? Why not limit transports to HAU's only and leave the capital stuff to capitals?

Lets not make same mistake twice. People complain there is not enough encounters with traders already, this would reduce them even more.

Horrible idea.

Instead of changing things that work for now go fix things that make no sense. Anyone with half a brain should know what.

The armor limitations suggestion by Croft isn't actually half-bad.

Armor limitation is one thing, thrusters making it easier to escape to closest dockable station is another.

After years of carebear attitude towards traders, and the said attitude influencing game mechanics, I believe this mod needs healthy pro-piracy bias.

Although I agree that 5ks should be very vulnerable, they've already been nerfed substantially compared to other transports.
The problem isn't 5kers, it's the Stork. It is not balanceable as a 5k, the model needs replacement.

What trade lanes do you pirate? I usually don't have a chance of escaping to a station that is more than 10 klicks away. And I'm not even using a 5ker. q.q

But you only have two options when youre in a 5k already. Pay or die.

If 5ks are thrusting away from you, you're pirating in the wrong ship. Get a small transport.
