Well, we'd mainly just threaten dire things for both sides if they don't break it up. If they didn't in fact break it up, we'd try to carry out those dire things until they did. The old adage of peace through superior firepower applies here, sort of.

The point about one cruiser is a good one. We'll probably just make that the flagship, Commodore only. Or have one stationed in each operational zone.

Also, we could mediate forum discussions outside of the game.

I'm afraid you'll most likely end up classified as hostiles by just about everyone. If the BAF are performing a military (or privateering) operation against the KNF (or vice versa), and you guys interfere, then when the fight is over don't expect to go back to neutral. You'll be an enemy of the state.

I could see you guys being a doomed to fail faction attempting to mediate the two wars. War breaks out somewhere and you implore both sides to cease fire. Sometimes they might call it off, sometimes they may not. A pure RP faction, never aggressively interfering.

Of course, you could also play a more corrupt group, taking bribes from either side, then talking to the other side into believing their foes will break off or leave peacefully, then call in the cavalry. Might be interesting, just don't know how it would play out.

But the GMG thing needs to go... Did you catch that? o.O

TDL put the issue very well, the UN and Nato or the Russians or the AU, any of the peacekeeping organizations operate on the hospitality of the countries they are deployed to. Without the approval of the country in question they cannot be deployed, and even after they are deployed the host country can ask them to leave at any time and they have no choice but to comply. For example, in 1967 on the eve of the Six Day War, the Egyptians and Syrians asked the UN peacekeepers deployed along the Suez canal and the Golan Heights to leave, and of course, they had no option but to leave. If you operate against the houses in attempting to stop war, you will end up fighting on the side of the losing side, because the side that is winning has no incentive to allow you to operate.

Yes, that first one could work. I can't see us having much success using force anyway, Civilian guns are mostly rubbish. As for the GMG thing, yeah, I'll get rid of that.

Also, another use: If there's a non-aggression treaty between two formerly hostile Houses, the SPT could enforce it.

Using brute force is a no no. A organization like this would not have the force needed to stop a house. Keep in mind, this organization would be comprised of the Houses, and as a joint commission, it has no MILITARY power. Today, the UN has no MILITARY power. How does it send troops? Those are troops supplied by the counties that compose the UN, the UN itself has no army whatsoever. It has no military forces (besides a private security force that guards the UN and it's officials).

Therefore, in the case of the Bretonian Kusari war, Rheinland and Liberty forces would act as the "peacekeeping force" since obviously Bretonian and Kusari are not going to send their soldiers to prevent a war they are fighting themselves. Due to diplomacy currently, Liberty and Rheinland likely would not send troops as a peacekeeping force becuase, plus, even if it's under the pretense of a united peacekeeping corp, since there are only two nations, it is essentially a deceleration of war.

Now, if there were, say, 200 houses in Sirius, this idea might work. There are only 4, so, sadly, it won't.

So this idea has no military basis whatsoever, except for maybe a small group of independent soldiers, but in that case....is it really a peacekeeping corp, or just another side in a war?
