Just a few weeks have passed after the evacuation of Edinburgh, and command wants us in the other side of Bretonia.. The reason; Gallic fleet movements were observed heading towards Leeds, command needs Manchester and Magellan both covered. They need information on every single movement of the Gallic fleets toward those systems. I wonder what this whole operation is... Gallia can't be starting war with Liberty too now... that will be very foolish of them. Either way, our mission now is to stay in Manchester and make sure nothing passes by here without us noticing.
A few months later. . .
Command was right. Gallia ended up occupying Leeds... God... what about the people there...? I just hope our forces are enough to break the occupation for enough time so that the people are evacuated. We are still holding our ground in Manchester, we have came across a few scarce Gallic patrols around the sector, nothing too interesting. We are however spotted... they know we are here. Command is informed and they can't stress enough how needed our presence is, even if the Gallic forces know of our position. We can only hope no battlegroup comes to face us, which fortunately is pretty impossible since the Gallic fleets are busy with 2 occupations already.
A few weeks later. . .
Gallic forces did end up raiding the system. There was nothing we could do... we fought back and managed to take down a few ships but in the end we had to get away. No backup was to arrive.. if we stayed there we would be scrap metal by now. We retreated to Newcastle where we hold until further orders. We are currently moored with Battleship Harlow and are receiving some much needed repairs and resupplies. I have no idea where command will send us next... but one thing I do know is that the Gallic fleets are advancing towards California. It seems Gallia is foolish enough to start a war in two fronts. We can only wait this out for now... Let's hope our forces manage to push them back. We cannot afford to lose California as it's a key system to our connection with Bretonia. A very wise move to launch an attack on that system specifically, but I doubt they will have the resources to sustain all of their fleets.
Will keep the logs updated if anything new occurs. Until next time, Christopher out.
Christopher Edwards, Battleship Akhetaten, Newcastle System, 823 A.S.
Something very unexpected happened a few days ago. The situation around Magellan and Manchester remains the same, with Gallic forces overrunning everything they come across, however something very weird took place in Newcastle. First we saw one Nomad ship in the distance, and just a few moments later, not even enough for us to believe our eyes, a whole bloody fleet decloaked. The Captain ordered a full retreat, we weren't ready for this, we were on a normal duty patrol around the system, our escort wings got wiped out in seconds and we were now all alone against a whole armada of Nomads. Bretonia Armed Forces and a small quarter of Liberty's forces came to assist, thankfully they arrived on time because those Nomad vessels were closing in on us. As soon as our fleet engaged and the Akhetaten lost the Nomads' focus, we took battle positions and rallied with the rest of our forces. The fight was on for a damn while before the nomad forces retreated after suffering heavy casualties. We didn't know if they completely retreated from the system, or even where they went, so we are still on very high alert. Command doesn't want us flying alone around Newcastle after all. The Akhetaten has received a one week break from action after the latest events. That week will be used to further upgrade the ship, and repair it's external hull among other equipment. The ship needs to be ready for a full scale invasion in case the Gallics decide to come by Newcastle.
In other news, we have word that a peace treaty was signed between our home, Liberty, and Rheinland. I'm not much into politics, but I do hope this treaty is respected by both sides. I fortunately didn't get to experience this war, but I can only imagine how painful of an experience it must've been for those who did, and the thought that the Akhetaten is part of the main reason as to why the war even started keeps me awake every night. Either way, the treaty is signed and we can now assume that this war is over both officially and unofficially. Hopefully Command will send more troops our way, though we gotta keep in mind the situation in California right now. God knows what's headed towards there, and as I've said before this is a system we cannot afford to lose.
Just a few minutes before I started recording this, after Command informed us about the peace treaty, they also mentioned that they require our immediate departure towards Manchester once again. An entire fleet will be headed there to merge with us, Command needs this system secured. They think that Gallic forces are preparing an even larger battlegroup, headed straight for Manchester and then onwards to Cortez. The reason command does not want this fleet to reach Cortez is that if we lose Cortez along with Manchester, Gallia will have a direct route to feed in reinforcements towards California. We cannot allow that to happen.
Let's hope whatever fleet they've sent to support us get's to Manchester in time and aren't held back by anything. Else we'll be alone out there, and each minute we are alone puts the ship and the entire crew into risk. Manchester is still considered hostile territory, occupied by the Gallic Navy.
Christopher Edwards, Battleship Akhetaten, Manchester System, 824 A.S.
The time has come. We are in position and ready to make the jump to Manchester, the coordinates have been set and we are waiting for the jump drive to finish charging so the Captain can order the jump. Let's hope it all goes well and our fleet is waiting for us on the other side. The Akhetaten has moved into a nebula so that the jump isn't detected by any scanners. All of our communications have been down for the past few hours, we can only assume that everything is going according to plan on the other side. We are ready to make the jump to Manchester.
A few moments later. . .
We made it. We made the jump successfully. Scanning the system for signatures now. The voice of the Captain can be heard in the background, along with the rest of the crew on the bridge. The Captain picks up the radio and requests immediate assistance. Christopher is seen getting up from his chair and leaving the room he has in, presumably headed to the bridge. The recording is still left on, the camera shakes as if the ship is under fire. A few moments later, a large explosion is heard. The sound of sirens echoes through the metal walls of the ship. "Hull breach! Hull breach!" Multiple voices can be heard shouting. The ship is under heavy fire and soon thereafter the recording stops as another shot from an enemy ship hits the hull.
Captain Christopher Edwards, Battleship Akhetaten, Alaska System, 18/07/827 A.S.
At approximately twenty four hundred hours the gunboats [LN]-LNS-Jefferson and [LN]-LNS-Asheville begun a training exercise under the supervision of me, aboard the LNS-Akhetaten and Lt. Commander Mark Bannon aboard the 5th|LNS-Loyalist. The exercise was to have the two gunboats match each other two times before taking the Akhetaten on. Loyalist would join in should the need arise. Training went on normally for the next hour - we were soon joined by Captain Robinson aboard the [LN]-LNS-Shenandoah.
However, at around that time Captain Robinson informed us that there was an incoming transmission from Fairbanks Prison Station, just a few clicks away. Fairbanks was under attack by a Nomad fleet. We immediately stopped the training and headed to the Prison station's location, holding back the Nomad fleet that had emerged from nowhere. After defeating all hostile signatures in the sector our Task Force was hailed by Fairbanks to inform us that there's a lot more signatures incoming.
The Nomads seemed to be attacking in waves, and what we just faced was only the first wave of a large scale invasion. 5th|LNS-Milwaukee captained by Lt.Commander Lucius Hopkins joined in at that time, and after our repairs were finished on the prison station and just a few minutes later Battleship Minneapolis was under attack by a large amount of Nomad signatures. The Minneapolis reported multiple hull breaches - we had to go there ASAP. When we arrived the view was terrifying - Nomads had sent out a vessel whose size I have never seen before. Minneapolis was indeed in trouble. With the combined firepower of our Task Force we managed to once again clear out the Nomads attacking Minneapolis and moor with the Battleship for the necessary repairs.
After our repairs were finished, we decided to head back to Juneau. We did -not- expect what was to be seen there. Juneau was being sieged by multiple Nomads, many of them being designated on the "Ish'tar"-class. That was the last wave of the unexpected Nomad invasion, and the Task Force managed to handle it too, preventing Juneau from taking any collateral damage.
I will be attaching a recording of all of the above events below.
Insurgency Overlord sighted at California jump gate
Captain Christopher Edwards, Battleship Akhetaten, New York System, 19/07/827 A.S.
Earlier today the Akhetaten was cloaked and on it's route to California, from the most recent training exercise incident in Alaska. Our arrival timing seemed to be optimal as an Insurgency Overlord, IN|H-INS-Discovery, had just now jumped in the system. It's purpose was unknown, and I couldn't care less at that moment. The Overlord was a threat to our operations in New York and it had to be disabled. Without wasting any valuable I engaged the Overlord, and after a long fight was able to take it down, returning to normal duty on California.
I will be attaching a recording of the mentioned event below.
[19.07.2020 17:52:49] LNS-Akhetaten: Edwards: That was unexpected.
[19.07.2020 17:52:57] IN|H-INS-Discovery: Justin: Seems like we fall into a trap.
[19.07.2020 17:53:07] LNS-Akhetaten: Edwards: Or the opposite.
[19.07.2020 17:53:12] LNS-Akhetaten: Edwards: I've no clue at this point.
[19.07.2020 17:53:26] IN|H-INS-Discovery: Justin: Well me neither. I guess the surprise was mostly shared.
[19.07.2020 17:53:48] LNS-Akhetaten: Edwards: Certainly didn't expect to see a ship like yours here.
[19.07.2020 17:54:23] IN|H-INS-Discovery: Justin: Well I believe that was the matter of on single time. Next time you won't be that surprised anymore, I guess.
[19.07.2020 17:54:44] LNS-Akhetaten: Edwards: Shall we get to it before any unnecessary attention comes into play?
[19.07.2020 17:54:54] IN|H-INS-Discovery: Justin: However, our presence here is very clear.
[19.07.2020 17:55:10] [LN]-LNS-Jefferson: D: The Jefferson is inbound for assistance!
[19.07.2020 17:55:12] IN|H-INS-Discovery: Justin: And it looks like you finally figured out already.
[19.07.2020 17:55:12] [LN]-LNS-Jefferson: D: Target is locked. Fire solution acquired. Jefferson engaging at once!
[19.07.2020 17:55:16] LNS-Akhetaten: Edwards: I wouldn't say that. The Insurgency has been fairly inactive in New York lately.
[19.07.2020 17:55:22] LNS-Akhetaten: Edwards: Easy, Jefferson.
[19.07.2020 17:55:51] IN|H-INS-Discovery: Justin: Well if that is this way, let's find out then.
[19.07.2020 17:56:07] LNS-Akhetaten: Edwards: All batteries, lock on target.
[19.07.2020 17:56:13] IN|H-INS-Discovery: Justin: Charging weapons. You should prepare yourself, Navy.
[19.07.2020 17:56:22] LNS-Akhetaten: EdwardS: Lets get to it then.
[19.07.2020 17:56:33] IN|H-INS-Discovery: Justin: Weapons will fire when in range.
[19.07.2020 17:56:37] [LN]-LNS-Jefferson: D: The Jefferson is here to provide CDs if necessary.
[19.07.2020 17:56:51] [LN]-LNS-Monitor: S: *Sigh*.
[19.07.2020 17:57:04] [LN]-LNS-Monitor: S: I finally get to have my coffee break, only to jump into this...
[19.07.2020 17:57:15] [LN]-LNS-Monitor: S: Anyways, this seems handled.
[19.07.2020 17:57:27] [LN]-LNS-Monitor: S: Also, ignore that idiot on the system-wide channel.
[19.07.2020 18:03:23] Lilac: Haze: Morning.
[19.07.2020 18:04:12] Lilac: Haze: Well, this doesn't look very good, to be honest.
[19.07.2020 18:04:23] Lilac: Haze: Especially that there's another Liberty dreadnought on the other side of this gate.
[19.07.2020 18:04:38] [LN]-LNS-Monitor: S: The other Overlord is not coming here.
[19.07.2020 18:05:02] Lilac: Haze: Well, if you say so.
[19.07.2020 18:10:11] Death: IN|H-INS-Discovery was put out of action by LNS-Akhetaten (Gun).
[19.07.2020 18:10:20] Lilac: Haze: Well, that's a shame.
[19.07.2020 18:10:22] LNS-Akhetaten: Edwards: Glad we got that out of the way.
[19.07.2020 18:10:38] [LN]-LNS-Monitor: S: Let's move, we've got other issues to attend to.
[19.07.2020 18:10:44] LNS-Akhetaten: Edwards: Roger that.
[19.07.2020 18:10:56] LNS-Akhetaten: Edwards: Maintaining radio silence.
Captain Christopher Edwards, Battleship Akhetaten, New York System, 29/07/827 A.S.
The engineers aboard Juneau finally managed to dig up the Akhetaten's schematics since it's constructions, rather old files themselves. In the past week I was working along with them to help re-create the schematics and bring them up to date with the ship's current state - the refits I've had done to it changed some major parts of her.
After just a few days of hard work I finally have the Akhetaten's current schematics on hand, and this time they won't be getting lost. I'll be making sure to upload each schematic of the ship's decks here, they're safe in those logs after all.
The Akhetaten was refitted to operate with 8 total decks.
The first two of those decks have been reserved for research and observation purposes, along with being outfitted with the necessary life support systems.
Deck 3 is where the ship's crew spends most of their time when not on-duty; the leisure facilities along with crew quarters can be located there.
Deck 4 is where the ship's main cargo bay is located, as well as the upper level of the maintenance rooms, one of the four that is. The other 3 maintenance rooms are spread across decks 5 through 7.
Deck 5 is where the ship's secondary and tertiary hangars are located, resting just above the hangar bay exit, along with that the newly refitted Combat Information Center, or CIC for short is placed in the middle of the thick hull plating on this certain deck. Care has been taken that the CIC is not converted into a death trap, as there are two emergency airlocks on each side of the CIC, providing an exit through the hangar, and an exit through the port side and starboard side of the ship - should the need arise. At this point I think it's important to also mention that area above the CIC, on deck 4 - as well as the are below the CIC, on deck 5, are both out of bounds as their place is taken by the thick plating covering every side of the CIC.
On deck 6, and just below the CIC, inside the thick plating I decided to place the improved ship's armory. The plating serves the double purpose of protecting the CIC along with the armory now. Apart from that, deck 6 is where the primary hangar along with the main airlock are located.
Deck 7, sporting the last maintenance room is a relatively low-usage deck. Along with the last part of maintenance, in deck 7 on can stumble on the reactor room as well as the cargo bunkers 1, 2 and 3. The cargo bunkers purpose is to secure highly dangerous cargo.
Deck 8, and the ships last deck is there for the sole purpose of in-ship turret repairs, as the deck itself is too small to fit any compartment on it's own.
Last but not least, the bow of the Akhetaten has been further reinforced, sporting double the transverse and longitudinal reinforcements than the rest of the ship, at the cost of being completely inaccessible by the crew, making in-flight repairs impossible. The reason behind this is the increase of the ship's frontal hull integrity.
Commodore Christopher Edwards, Battleship Akhetaten, Cortez System, 19/03/828 A.S.
I heard that the Auxesia along with the Nomads were making some constant high-value appearances in Coronado lately, threatening to damage Crayter's property and endangering Sabah so I thought I'd head out there to see the situation for myself. The place was truly infested with hostile forces but at the time of my arrival the situation seemed to be entirely under control. A minority of the allied ships that were in the vicinity were slightly damaged indicating that a fight must've taken place before I got there.
I remained in the vicinity for a small period of time to ensure that no other engagement was about to break out. There were only four hostile snubcraft left which our forces could easily take care of so I decided I'd head back to Curacao.
Tomorrow I'll be taking the Akhetaten for a reconnaissance mission to Kansas, it seems a small fleet of Libertonian forces is being sent there and I consider it a top priority to be part of that fleet.
For the time being, with the exception of tomorrow's mission, the Akhetaten will remain parked on Curacao as it's a safe location to undock from, provides the necessary supplies we need and is also relatively close to Sabah.
Commodore Christopher Edwards, Battleship Akhetaten, Coronado System, 21/03/828 A.S.
Yesterday turned out to be a rather full day. We hoped our operation in Kansas to go by undercover and with as little attention from the Insurgency as possible, but it seems our hopes were in vain. About an hour in, a Judicator belonging to the Insurgency spotted us from a large distance and closed in for a few minutes before turning away to notify the rest of their forces.
We weren't given enough time to evacuate the system as shortly afterwards a small Insurgency fleet of similar size to ours appeared on scanners. The Insurgency wasn't about to just let us leave after spotting us that deeply into their territory and without much second thought their fleet engaged ours in an effort to kick us out of the system.
Of course we weren't about to just turn away and run. I assumed command of our fleet, being the highest ranking member present. After a lengthy and hard fight the Liberty Navy was victorious, we successfully wiped out the entirety of the Insurgency fleet and made a rapid escape from Kansas, fearing that more of their ships may be undocking to finish what their allies could not. This battle in Kansas should be enough to keep the Insurgency off our feet for a while.
The Akhetaten suffered major damage from the hostile fleet but thankfully we did not mourn any casualties and safely reached the drydock back home. The Akhetaten is, by now, back to it's post in Coronado, docked on Planet Yuma. We are on a tight watch looking out for Nomad or Auxesia forces and monitoring their presence in the system - it should be noted that it has decreased over the past hours, news that are only positive to us.
Commodore Christopher Edwards, Planet Manhattan, New York System, 30/03/828 A.S.
Today was a rather normal day of patrols with just a few incidents here and there, a couple of civilians who wouldn't listen and a couple others who were a lot more cooperative. However, between those ordinary encounters happened an event which I'd like to keep documented here.
At approximately 21:25:00 Sirius time our scanners briefly caught a glimpse of what looked like a Gallic Navy ship about 17 kilometers from the Manhattan grid. The crew was immediately alerted and the Akhetaten entered battle stations within the next minute. Surprisingly, the unknown vessel conveniently disappeared from our scanners about five seconds after it's appearance. We ran a perimeter scan of the entire area surrounding Manhattan, hoping to see something relevant but we did not. The are was completely clean and no sign of any foreign military vessel was found.
A few minutes after the above events, our scanners once again showed what appeared to be a nomad lifeform of medium to large size, closing in on our position. The lifeform instantly disappeared from our scanners approximately a minute after it was detected.
The Akhetaten is currently undergoing a maintenance, I need to make sure our scanners are completely operational and that I am not seeing things.
Commodore Christopher Edwards, Battleship Akhetaten, New York System, 20/04/828 A.S.
About time I recorded this, there's a number of things I need to log. Lets start from the simpler ones; Coronado.
The place is a mess, every time the Akhetaten has to fly to the Yellowstone to report the patrol results I get a feeling that we might not come back from this hell-hole of a system. This time, we had the Insurgency, Auxesia and the Coalition out there to ruin our day. The Insurgency battlecruiser was initially supported by an Auxesian bomber and a fighter while the Akhetaten was assisted by an LSF bomber. Shortly after the engagement begun, Captain Hawkins on board he Unto Nightfall, the known Order recon cruiser, decloaked in our vicinity and engaged the Auxesian snubcraft in our defense.
The LSF agent was surprised by this action, something that will be further discussed on later down this log. I, on the other hand, can't say I was as surprised as the agent. Captain Hawkins along with other operatives working for the Order have shown no hostilities towards the Liberty Navy the past few months after the discovery of Omicron Nu.
The Nightfall did a good job keeping the hostile snubcraft off of us and we managed to take down the battlecruiser, suffering immense damage while doing so. The two Auxesians were backed up by a third bomber a few minutes later along with a small wing of Coalition bombers. In the end, Captain Hawkins made the right move to re-cloak and leave the vicinity as it was a lost fight. Our backup didn't arrive in time and the Akhetaten ended up disabled for a few minutes before we got towed back to Norfolk for repairs.
After this engagement and with data from various past engagements the Akhetaten has been in, I filed a request towards the Fifth Fleet's Admiralty to keep the Akhetaten at Norfolk for a minor overhaul, which was approved. The C-48 "Cerberus"-type turret was removed from the Akhetaten and replaced with a TL-25 "Mortar", a cryogenic antimatter projector. The crew among with myself believe that the TL-25 will be a valuable addition to the Akhetaten's arsenal and an excellent replacement to the C-48.
Moving on, just yesterday we were on a routine patrol to Coronado once again when we came across a heavily damaged research vessel, the RSV-Neumann, that requested our assistance. The research vessel was stranded inside the star's corona with it's engines completely non-operational, we approached the vessel and engaged our tractor beams effectively pulling it out of the corona. Unfortunately, the Akhetaten's systems went offline for about three minutes after this procedure. We later found out that this was due to the immense heat radiated from the nearby sun that in conjunction with the Akhetaten's already heavily loaded reactor due to the tractor-beam being active lead to an overheat on our onboard components forcing everything to shut down so as to prevent any permanent damage.
After the issue was dealt with, a boarding team lead by Lieutenant Howard Stone and consisting of a few marines along with Lieutenant Emanuel Stoza was sent on board the Neumann tasked to repair the ship's reactor. The repairing of the reactor turned to be quite more adventurous than we expected, with Stone reporting that the ship suffered a lot more issues than what we initially thought. First the team had to repair the ship's reactor in order to restore power to all systems. Then, the communications of the ship in order to deactivate the on-going self-destruct sequence that was started when the 'intruders' were detected by the automatic defense system. Then, and only then, could they move to the engine room and fix the engine. During all of the above, they were 'escorted' by a robot that Stone described as 'overly rude', mentioning that it constantly referred to them as 'meatbags' and how it almost shot Stoza.
With the repairs all handled and the entire team still alive, they left the Neumann and returned to the Akhetaten where they were quarantined until the necessary check-ups were completed.
The research vessel was then escorted to Baltimore Shipyard which was notified of our arrival as I arranged an empty drydock for the Neumann to be repaired in. It seems that the Neumann encountered some large concentration of energy in California that when interacted with exploded causing the damage pre-mentioned. The stating is at the very least confusing.
During this whole operation, the same LSF agent as well as the Cursed Days, a Liberty Navy Overlord were in the vicinity looking after the Akhetaten while we were unable to defend ourselves. After the research vessel successfully docked at Baltimore, the agent requested our presence at a secluded area in order to discuss a few matters.
The Akhetaten rendezvoused with the agent inside Zone-21 at Chadwick station where we had Commander Nelson's company as well, a rather pleasant surprise I might add. The agent seemed to have been worried about Captain Hawkins and her intentions judging from our last meeting with her and the Unto Nightfall. He believed that the Order cruiser may have intercepted the transmission we sent to Yellowstone.
I ensured the agent that our transmission was not intercepted as the Akhetaten's counter-intelligence and cyber-warfare systems are second to none, effectively being the best known to man. To help him understand that his worries were insignificant, I told him that the data being transmitted was mere routine patrol data which of course was true. With that discussion out of the way, the agent docked and I brought the Akhetaten to Norfolk to rest after a long day.
