Well I recommend rather exploring a bit for yourself first. It's an important choice, so no rush.

I find it's best to get a good look of everything first, to experience it all, see what you like, then choose someone.
Look at people ingame first, look at what times some factions are mostly on, how their gameplay suits you and such..

For money, you can probably get hired for a few jobs, you can earn good money that way. If you want a job, lemme know, I'm sure I'll find some assignment I need someone to do, for a very fat payment.
