As our mission continues to push new boundaries, our Unit must adapt to survive. Part of this includes to find new friends out there that are able to help us accomplish our goals. From yesterday I approved a communique sent out to the Phoenix Zoner group. I have known of the Phoenix for some time as they are a more well-known group that operate mainly among the Omicrons. They have a good sized amount of people that work with them and continue to expand their operations.
In the communication sent, I made a request to see if we may conduct some sort of personnel or technical exchange of some sort. My hope is to get on their good side so we may have another ally out there and additional resources to draw upon if needed. Time will tell to see how amicable they are to our goals.

Today we arrived in Kepler, and it is quite the sight.
The entire system has been covered in a highly dense and extremely radioactive dark matter cloud. Our sensors were partially obstructed by it so getting detailed scans of many things was difficult.
I instructed all science teams to gather whatever information possible from here so we may have something to review in detail for later. The radiation in the system is so intense I don't imagine we will be able to spend much time here. On contacting Ames, they informed us that smaller vessels must be very quick to transit the area to avoid excessive damage or poisoning and larger vessels should not linger too long either. We will be surveying various spots that have been relayed to use as points of interest by the local Zoners that already began some exploration of the area since the storm invading.
I plan to keep the Stormhawk around Kepler for at least another day or two, considering its safe to do so then turn our attention back to our main objective. A change of pace is good but we cannot let the Nomads or their cronies gain any ground on us.
Also, some unmarked vessels were spotted in the area, they claimed to operate for different reasons in the system but that is suspicious to say the least, as any deep venturing throughout Kepler would be deadly I imagine. I have noted in the ship-logs of such vessels should we run into them again.
In speaking with Mr Kaplain back home and a few other of our close supporters, we know that a change must be made soon. Eventually, we will need to move past barriers that have held us back before, sometimes even preventing our mission from completing all the way. We both agree that in order for Delta 4 to continue advancing, we will need to push past and go beyond what we have done before to defeat our enemies.
For now, we will mind the way we have operated, but coming very soon that will need to change, and the time will come to go to whatever lengths possible to do what must be done.
On another note, relations with other factions must be improved as well. I will continue to reach out to those that I believe can help us where needed. As for the invitation to Phoenix, I hope....will get responded to soon. Apparently they do have some useful connections out there.

Several among the crew today came to me insisting that we must continue to do more against the Nomads. I did assure them that we already are planning offensive efforts soon. Still, they seem more determined now that we have both struck victories and taken defeats against them as well. Information was received a short while ago of a number of additional strikes made against installations in the Edge worlds.
I am going to promise them that new plans will be made very soon as a way to strike back at them and hopefully send them a message that we will not back down.

Several days ago we managed to make contact with the Malta Hyperspace Starfleet. Information concerning them was sent to us not long ago about how they are more uniquely interested in scientific advancements more than just the dissemination of their Cardamine. As part of our efforts in connecting with others, I have agreed to a trade deal with them concerning some data they want and in return they will supply us with a good amount of Thorium MOX.
Some time back our engineering team wanted to explore alternate ways to improve our power output. I intend to get a load of this Thorium MOX so that we can conduct experiments and trials and hopefully find a way to improve our ship. I looked into obtaining some Thorium MOX from official sources within House space but they were not very inclined to sell some to "Unlicensed Customers" as some called it.
The Malta Hyperspace Starfleet appear to have a good deal of science personnel so perhaps we can collaborate in some fashion in the future.
A reply was finally received from the Phoenix not too long ago. Apparently they have fabricated some sort of hybrid sensor system that gives them enhanced detection for Nomad vessels with even potential of finding infected ships.
I immediately jumped at such a opportunity. This is exactly the sort of thing the Stormhawk needs to better achieve our goals. I they have directed us to proceed to Livadia shipyard for the installation, so I will Order the ship there at once.

A while back we made a successful deal with the Malta Hyperspace Starfleet. In return for some data they wanted for us to get for them, they were happy to pass on a moderate quantity of Thorium MOX for our use. They appear to know their way around many technical things so I look forward to working with them in the future.
No doubt this will hopefully help us to experiment further with pushing our ship to its limits. The engineering team will be very glad to hear about this.

Well, it definitely has been more eventful this past month. After a lot of time back and forth working with other groups, we finally got a hold of a very useful item for ourselves. Taking time negotiating with the Phoenix Zoner group, the Stormhawk acquired a adapted sensor system that should allows us to have much better detection against Nomad-infected vessels. They didn't make any major promises and noted that it is not a perfect system, but we hope to improve on that over time.
The installation went over without any hiccups. A fruitful discussion was made at the same time between the nearby Phoenix ships administering the installation process. Our relationship with the Phoenix has become closer and we look together to working with them again in the future.
Just earlier we concluded a retaliatory strike made in Omicron Minor. Several reports were coming in over the past week of a number of attacks against passing ships. We decided to make our presence there and stop this menace.
Using our cloaking system, we spotted a group of Nomad ships trying to move to another area of the system when we attacked. They were caught quite off-guard and were unable to fight back well enough to cause much damage to the ship. Over half of the Nomad ships were terminated while the rest retreated. This counts as a major victory for us, hopefully they will get the message that we are here to stay.

Over the next few days, our science team examined the system to fully understand it's inner workings and to make sure it was fully operational within our requirements. We wanted to conduct some controlled tests but at the same time did not want to affect nearby civilian systems as we were not sure of any sort of anomalous effects it may have. After speaking with my officers, we decided that tests in a remote system would be best for the time being. I chose Omega 11 as a good place to start, considering its overall desolate nature.
This proved to be a very good choice as the increased radiation had some unexpected effects on the Phoenix sensor system. It seems that the higher background radiation somewhat increased effectiveness on it, as it's power readings went up very high not long after we fired it up for testing. This was not the case on the initial test conducted after installation. Apparently due to the hybrid detection waves used by the "Phoenix Array" as we have called it, it becomes much more intense after being exposed to higher levels of solar radiation.
Well, the time is coming soon when we must advance our operations. After talking with Kaplain and my command crew, we know that a number of things must be finalized very soon in order to accomplish what we have set out to do from so long ago. We cannot wait much longer. Whether we act within the good graces of some of our allies remains to be seen, I continue to make effort to hold what alliances we have for the time being. Time will tell if they hold up. Epsilon 11 must be enacted soon.

I approved a number of requests today including the preliminary planning of new operations by some of my other teams onboard. I will review what they come up with in a few days to see what is possible.
Also, one useful piece of information has come in from the direction of Bretonia. I have been trying to find a method to properly enhance our Phoenix array so that it can be always active. I have got word of the Bretonia corporation known as Bretonia Mining and Fabrication. They have extensive experience in working with large technical projects from space stations to capital vessels. They have had a wide range of operations both in and outside their House so this may suit us well. Since we are unable to book a extended stay at Livadia for the time being, I will contact them and see if we can come to agreement to have them evaluate our power system in order to find a way to make our aftermarket technology function better. I will send a communication to them shortly about what can be done.
A number of tests made with the Phoenix array has shown that it has significant reaction to Solar Radiation. This is surprising but according to Waxord and his team, not exactly unexpected. The Array adapts a combination of other forms of radiation to function that standard sensor systems do not normally use. The fact that is reacts in such a way is highly useful information in helping us both understand it's inner workings and adapting it more efficiently to our systems.
I will stay up to date on all other developments in this regard as this has become one of our prized possessions for our mission.

Today was quite eventful for us, that being a understatement.
We managed to contact the Order for a joint operation of their choosing, to see how we could build relations with them and further assist them when possible. With upcoming changes I believe in the works, this will be critical for us going forward.
A Order captain by the name of Marcus Ward invited us to join him in a recon run to a system they often patrol. Prior to this he requested us to hand over as a show of good faith, a active Nomad Power-cell that we had on hand. We captured one not too long ago and were reluctant to give it up, but I believe a partnership with the Order can go farther in the long run. Upon our arrival at their planetary base, we conducted the transfer to a subordinate officer under Ward that took it off our hands.
After this was complete, Captain Ward himself arrived in a Cruiser-class vessel to show us to a area that is normally off limits to due very high levels of known Nomad activity. This intrigued us substantially and after some short preparation, he provided Jump Drive coordinates for us to activate, which would lead us there. The system in question they have designated as Omicron Psi.
The visual aspect of the system alone was quite incredible and unique. The radiation level in there was also abnormally high, spurring our safety measures to be increased and raising shields to max to protect against the toxic levels as much as possible. One facet we noticed on a positive note was the effect the local solar radiation was having on our new Phoenix array that was recently installed. I requested at the time to log as many readings of it as the engineering team could so they could hopefully find more ways to calibrate it for higher detection resolution.
Ward requested we follow to another area of the system where we would conduct a scan of a planet. Along the way, we were attacked by several waves of Nomad ships, most of which were destroyed easily. Their attacks were slowly getting stronger over time, leading us to believe that they were eventually going to hit us harder than we could handle. Our scan of the planet did not reveal very much, a part from various craters and other minerals present, but no discernible Nomad presence that we could tell.
After this, we looped around a small nebula that sensors could not penetrate and Ward was unwilling to attempt to enter the cloud, barring heavy fleet support. After a number of more engagements with the Nomads, we decided it was time to withdraw, activated our jump-drives and retreated back to Mu. It was noted after that such jump coordinates for security purposes were only guaranteed for a short time, as they do not want unsupervised access of the area, more trust must be gained with them.
The run was very informative for us, showing us some Nomad tactics and we got a number of very useful scans of the system. No doubt this will help us in the weeks to come. I really hope we can find more trinkets from the Nomads to help us understand their ways and technology better. Only time will tell.

Today was a long day. I had another long conversation about our future with Kaplain. We agree that a major change must occur very soon, any delaying may put additional risk on the safety of others. We agree that by the end of the month, pending no major interruptions to our work, the final stage of our plan will need to commence.
The various team leads under my command have also come up with some ideas on how to better detect Alien ships, specifically at closer ranges, so I imagine this will be a great help to find infected ships in our vicinity. Very excellent work on their part.
Other potential operations have also been brought to my attention, including some activity with the Order. I deployed a transmission to them some time ago and they just responded to me today, so I hope to gain their trust by assisting them in any way possible.
I have forwarded the bulk of our assignments back to Kaplain and also we agree that for maximum safety, one or two items we have may need to be moved onboard the Stormhawk for their protection. It may just be paranoia, but the Nomads may get a idea of what we are doing and make attempts to stop us.
I announced to the rest of the crew today of our intention to proceed with our next phase of operations. Almost all of the crew did agree with what we are planning, with only a handful apparently skeptical of the long-term repercussions of such actions. I will speak with some department heads and help them to assure their teams that everything is happening as planned and we are taking great care to not take unnecessary risks.

The refit we had in the Edinburgh system at a BMF installation was completed the other day. The Stormhawk now has a higher power efficiency than before and can also operate the Phoenix array at full power the entire time the ship is active. I have also made sure our dampening field fully protects the Fuelcell, as we know other groups out there would be very interested in us if they were to detect it on-board. With the improvements made from the Thorium MOX injections in our reactor and the Nomad Fuelcell being adapted to our systems, I believe we are now ready to advance Epsilon 11.
The Order also offered us a new path to assist them with other operations, so I am ordering the Stormhawk back to the Omicrons immediately. I am anxious to see what they have in store again.
July 1, 828 AS
It has been a long road getting to this point, but we are finally here. On this day, we will move to the final stage.
Epsilon 11 is to be enacted immediately. Our recent success with the Order and gaining some favour with them has helped us gain a solid reputation with them. This will go a long way I believe. Our science teams will continue as they have always done. Their work has been once of the pinnacles of our successes.
We will returning to Corinth to move a active Nomad powercell off that base to the Stormhawk for tests in deep space. I have already prepped Gatecrashers with their duties for this. In addition, vessels detected as being Infected from this point onward detected within range of us will be marked for termination and eradicated to the best of our ability. Hopefully we will continue to find more allies out there to help with this goal. Our Phoenix array operating at peak efficiency will be our main weapon we use for finding our enemies wherever they try to hide.
All of those seemingly endless months or trials, exploring and hardships have finally come to this. It is time to protect humanity with every possible effort. All these efforts must not go to waste. Delta 4 must survive.
It seems the Phoenix array could still use some perfecting, it is operating fine but Waxford believes that some extra calibration could be in order for it to function with better efficiency. I am having our Astrogation team explore potential areas for us to conduct tests based on Solar radiation levels. Hopefully they can find another good place for us soon.
Another item of note is that there has been some very apparent increased Nomad activity in the Omicrons lately. This is troubling due to the fact only a month ago we saw very little. I am going to direct the Stormhawk out there shortly and see what we can find. I have gotten a few mixed reports from our people at Freeport 11, some good and some bad. Looks like we need to investigate for ourselves.
In the past few weeks there has been considerable increase in Core movements around the Omicrons. Reports suggest that they are gearing up for a major operation and they appear to be taking a more aggressive stance. Some of our contacts report them making pushes more against Nomad vessels, this has prompted us to explore what kind of operations they are into.
Yesterday we requested to assist them on a search and destroy patrol, to which they accepted cautiously.
They seem to be very concerned about their local security and are not taking big risks. We did locate a few nomad patrol vessels and prevented a number of other ships that appeared to be attempting to retreat before we managed to stop them.
As an potential ally, I'm not really sure how to treat them as their focus has been more on making profit rather than defending the Edge Worlds, what happens next remains to be seen.
July 13, 828 AS
According to reports from our Astrogation team, they believe exploring the Sigma 59 system could be useful, as it seems to contain the only Blue Giant sun known in Sirius. We have not had a chance to experiment with our Phoenix array in that area yet so we have deployed there and begun trials on it, I imagine they should conclude in another day or so.
Readings so far indicate that we might be able to tune our array to a wider scanning range in order to make a quicker scan of most vessels nearby, I really hope this is the case as any improvement will help greatly.
Back in April we made a attempt to survey the system known as Omicron Nu. Unfortunately that was not possible due to our ship coming under attack by Nomads and sustaining some damage, causing us pull back. I always intended to return the Stormhawk to that system again, but never could find a good moment until now. Passing through a number of Omicron systems, we arrived back into Nu. The journey did involve some resistance of Nomad ships as we transited through Minor.
As in previous circumstances, our Unit will spend several days here to inspect whatever we can and forward to our people at Corinth so they may make a better in depth analysis. I have heard many rumours about Nu so I wonder if any are true. Time will tell I suppose.
July 22, 828 AS
Over the past several days I directed us to different areas of Omicron Nu to get a good picture of what existed in the system. As of yet, we uncovered a number of discoveries that our science teams were overloaded with information.
We progressed first towards a planet that appeared possible to support life, surrounding it was a large debris field, which consisted strangely of older House technology, specifically Liberty in general. Our sensors picked up some strange readings coming from the planet, but due to some unknown interference we decided not to approach it.
A continued scan as we moved through the field yielded few results worth noting for us, so we departed for another sector.
Local rumours suggested a Alien structure located not far from the central star so after checking the starcharts, I ordered the ship in that direction. En-route, I also had the ship activate the cloaking system so that in case there were Nomads in the area, we could take a look without attracting attention. Granted, we cannot make such a detailed scan while cloaked but did what we could to gather information. Eventually the ship arrived near a large unknown structure that we were unable to make a detailed scan of.
A strange substance was found in the area and we managed to contain a small amount to send to our labs. Several Nomad ships were found nearby as well, thankfully they were not able to see us through the cloak and after spending some hours there, retreated away to recharge the cloaking system.
Today we are situated within a ring system of the local gas giant, this has proved to have some effectiveness in preventing detection from others so we may take a rest for now, but by tomorrow we will move out towards the western side of the system to see if anything is left there to find. There seems to be a lot of interesting things to find here and we may need to return again later.
We will likely make our way back to Kappa soon to get major updates from our team there and drop-off some items for them to fawn over.
