Ok, here's a question: do I simply use the /renameme command to rename, or do I need to buy something that I saw you can buy in the game and wait for the admins to change it for me?

just use /renameme. the name change certificate is no longer needed, and the 2 million charge is automatically deducted from your funds. However, the /renameme command wipes your /setmsg commands, so be sure to remake them.
