Else, if you have nothing to say of worthy of note: move along and stay silent. Stay silent as you always have. Blind, and nonspeaking. Despicably and without honor nor even respect for what they have done for this wretched hive. All you have done is watch or worse - laugh. So do not even dare speak ill here.
Just gonna quote this again. Some didn't get the memo. This is not a thread to be taken lightly.

Kherty, quit the rambling and get some sleep.
From what I've been told, there were disagreements among the devs and Zentor didn't take them well, thus deciding to leave. Fair enough. Claiming without evidence that the other devs are acting maliciously and are otherwise not contributing to the mod is simply wrong - as Darius already pointed out.
It's sad that Zentor decided to leave, I was looking forward to his POB changes and am sure he has contributed plenty to the mod in ways I'm not even aware of. Turning this leaving thread into yet another pointless conspiracy discussion about the state of Discovery's dev team is not productive.
Goodbye Zentor and good luck with your other projects.
I was praying that this won't happen... It is a sad day for a large segment of this community to see you leaving. It is also very sad to see the lead economy developer being put aside and what should be his decisions, are being taken by other story devs or others. This is very normal for a man who respects himself to step away when he finds out that he is forced not to perform his role as a lead economy developer... Only a puppet would stay...
It annoys me very much to see ya leaving @Zentor but I respect you because you are not a puppet sir. It's indeed a big loss.... goodbye to your great ideas, It was going to change discovery in a revolutionary way. Good luck to others, Discovery lost a great guy because of the poor developer team administration.
Just a small Note to You all I was there on voice chat with others and Zentor when he was having a more than 1-hour converation about decisions being taken by other devs concerning the economy by force and neglecting Zentor's decisions and putting him aside by force. I and others were calming him down and telling him that this shouldn't be decided by one conversation and he was calm and fine, then as it seems he got more verbal insults and bad moves against him so he quit after several discussions about it with the 3 other devs...
So please, if you do not know what happened then please, there is no need for negativity... You have no idea how much this is affecting what's left of discovery. Thanks for reading
Please allow me to remind the ignorant buffoons that come here with the "sad to see you leave : (((" and "the other devs are bad and awful!!! : (" that this person you praise is also the same person to say that he will use his veto power to block coming developments simply because he disagreed with them.
Again, stop taking everything at first glance and look into it. Zentor's work is highly appreciated, but if one cannot put forth his opinion without going "MINE IS MORE IMPORTANT!" then that person does not deserve to be a developer. And, to reiterate on my other message here. If you are saying that the other devs do nothing then you're a major hypocrite. There's been hundreds of changes already for all the departments.
I hate utilizing such language but it seems to be the only way of getting the point across.
You being friends with Zentor is all fine and good. Being upset to see him leave is fine and good.
But you're simply making false claims about the "leadership." If you want unhinged, go back a few years. Like Darius keeps pointing out, the current dev team is working hard at getting shit done together and is probably in a better state than it has been at any other point in Discovery's long, sad history.
Zentor leaving will likely delay some important changes and additions, but what it will not do is "shake Discovery as a whole." Discovery will continue on as it always has. Slowly and with a lot of bitching from people who don't know what they're talking about.
Snip. Kindly consider that private messages are, generally, intended to be private. -Karst

I think no one has said that so far. People are aware that the Dev departments are doing their respective work.
Yet people are also aware that the system is flawed and changes in the structure are overdue.
I suggest, instead of 'flaming' at each other, wait for the next Update to hit the streets and then make your opinion on the facts, not on percieved facts/rumours.
There are always two sides to a disagreement and unless you were there, none of you know what was actual said/not said.
This is a Leaving Post, though it is in Flood (which I have never agreed with), so please try to keep it civil.

This is exactly what worries me about Disco's future. Things remaining the same.
Whenever someone wants to make a major change that makes the game more interesting, more appealing to new players, it raises so much drama that people just drop out.
If you want the game to survive and regain some popularity, you need major changes to be made. In gameplay, story, and attitude alike. Devs can't keep rejecting everything that shifts the status quo and expect things to improve.
This is definitely not the first time I witness this kind of attitude towards major positive changes, and I know I'm basically a "nobody" right now but that's one of the very reasons I refrained from applying as a dev so far. Zentor being forced to leave due to his gameplay improvements being vetoed, improvements that he worked hard on, did the research, and even developed all on his own, demotivates me even further. EDIT: I dug deeper into the details, so I'm a bit less demotivated right now, but my point still stands. Mixing so much emotions with a game is a recipe for disaster, whether it comes from one dev or the other.
This thread should be pinned on Discovery's landing page, with the quote from Toaster in big bold text. It'd serve well as a warning, so that people know what they're getting into. So that nostalgic enthusiastic developers wouldn't even consider wasting time on trying to get into the dev team.
My advice, dear developers, is that you should put the emotional baggage you got with the game aside, and focus on making real good gameplay instead.
(EDIT: and players too please, play well and be nice to each other)
Take it or leave it. There's so much potential wasted for all the wrong reasons.
I'd like to take a second to thank Zentor for the work he has done while leading the economy, and for the plans he had in the pipeline that will unfortunately not see the light of day due to his departure.
We worked together to get the atmospheric systems in to the game for a more interesting freighter based contraband economy & he was diligent in making sure the economy was fixed after Systems broke it,
It is unfortunate that we could not see eye to eye on that particular major development change that caused your departure, I understand your point of view that it seemed like too much at once, but we are trying to make the next patch our biggest in years, and a patch that will fundamentally make the game more playable.
And just to pre-empt anyone thinking about this, I do not appreciate any negative statements being made against former members of staff, particularly from current members of staff.
