' Wrote:I'd recommend fewer gunboats and more fighters because you said you're all volunteers. Gunboats cost more money to maintain and crew than fighters, so for a volunteer outfit, fighters would be more effective. Bombers are also more effective for dealing with traders than gunboats are, and besides, I know what things are like in Malta's orbit - if you get into trouble just shout and you'll have all the backup you'd ever want which kinda negates the need for gunboats.
Also, this is kinda cool because it represents a new degree of organisation in the Outcasts - there is a ruling body (the Dons), a State funded Navy and this would represent a State sanctioned police force. That practically makes the Outcasts a proper House.
The gunboats would be limited really simply due to its role. There would probably only be 1 active watchman online at any time, which is the role I recommend the GB for. Ideally there would never be more than 3 or 4 members on duty anyway so I doubt we need to worry about GB numbers. Like I said, I am aiming to keep things small. Its only a small volunteer force and is in no way going to represent itself as a major military power.
And to Boss and Eppy, many thanks for the endorsement, I truly apprciate you stating it here. I hope rhe MPA will become a useful tool to your factions, freeing your guys up for a more active defensive/offensive role (delete as appropriate). My PM box is always open (and empty) if you have any concerns over a conflict of interests, or indeed if there is anything you would like to see us doing.

Aye we'll have none of that gung ho fly boy behaviour round here ya hear me?
NOT ON MY WATCH!!:nono:
Quick update for any interested. Will be setting up a small forum with a lot more details on it as well as a public contact area for any questions, concerns etc. Just figured it would be easier than constantly updating this or replying to PM's.
Will post a link when complete

I like the idea.. The RA was watching the Docking and always said it needs to be controlled but as you know Their English is not well even though they are working on it. its still not enough to communicate 100%, i give it "Thumbs Up"
As of yesterday, and much to my chagrin, yes. DarthCurl decided to leave, and stuck me in charge, regardless of the fact that I resigned two days earlier.:lol:This creates a bit of a leadership vacuum, so I'm basically going to try to breathe some life into the faction once my damn term paper is finished and get it back up to snuff, then push all my responsibilities off on some poor sod and retire to my nice gaming life of liners, never having to call myself 'Admiral' ever again and not having to deal with the 101st's problems except from the bridge of an indie Outcast Dreadnought. I have my entire retirement all planned out.
Anyways, the Port Authority looks good.
