Yes, BC can. But heavy cruisers will lose all energy on 2 LM, its a waste of a slot to mount 2 for any fight.
Anyways if BC can fire 3 mortars in quick succession, then why not get BC instead of dessie? Isn't BHG BC the only BC at the moment with thruster anyways? It doesn't get more robust than that...
' Wrote:What exactly do you mean by "flexible"? I think it was clearly stated that the Destroyer is flexible enough as it is. It takes down the Order cruiser , easily. It's small and fast enough to avoid the larger ships and it's probably hard to down one with 2/3 bombers.
Do you have any exact changes in mind ?
Approximate changes: Size, hull and agility would be in between that of the current BC and Destroyer. 10-12 turrets. All turrets firing forward with 8-6 firing backward. Power core of 2,25 million.
As far as repelling bombers - it doesn't do that terribly well. It is a destroyer after all.
@mjolnir: Of course it's great in numbers - concentrating fire from multiple vessels onto a single target. I can see 3 dessies taking out an Osiris, for example. Definitely doable.

That is a good point about the light mortars. But the power core recharge rate isn't hopeless. You'd definitely better hit though - a miss would be painful.
A point of interest about the BC: it's a fairly big target with a cruiser shield. Nor does it dodge very well - even less when cded out of EK. The thruster is handy though.
BHG BC is battlecruiser with the thruster (one of the features who made the difference between BCs and cruisers)...not all BCs can say they have one...on top with 10 or even 12 fwd firing turrets it has agility and power to beat any cruiser in game...that ship is flexible then most of other ships in that class...
and if one can choose, agility is always better then pure hitpoints or turret numbers...
there is another matter...matter of RP ..... while it is possible that group of bounty hunters can make crew for gunship and gunboat....as classes go up plausibility goes down ....
even if we turn the blind eye to that fact, BHG is a group of hunters and their shipbuilding capabilities are limited, as well as their resources...
by resources i dont mean that they cant build so many caps or even stronger caps...but the fact that it is costly to maintain such fleet or vessel...
there is also the fact that BHGs have LF, HF, HF mk2, VHF, bomber, gunship, gunboat, destroyer, battlecruiser and battleship...that is larger fleet then most houses have...
However, those are remnants from the past, and as devs we must work with that. It was explained many times before that ships cant change classes or simply be removed due to char corruption and other server side issues. Our brilliant coders have resolved some of those issues, but not all.
So to justify existence of GS and GB, and dessie and BC, both classes must have their good and bad sides, and that is the BHG fleet that we know today
megiddo, so 12 turrets, power core 2,25 milion ? thats are stats of corsair cruiser for example. and when you think that it is so good. buy one, and fly it. fly it in battle.
and i am sure you will scream that you will smaller and more agile cruiser....
because when you will have ship with 12 turrets and that powercore, think about how small are bounty hunter ships, and about how strong you will them have...
(try to hit bh cruiser from 800-1000 m, and try to hit corsair cruiser for example)

Changing power cores wouldn't corrupt a char, no? If no, just set the Power Core to a very low number, but high enough to fly in cruise. You'll wonder how fast those ships will be gone when this change is noticed.

On topic:
I think the BH Cruiser is fine as it is.
BUT:
Checking FL stats i'm now wondering if all the turrets of the Resheph can fire forward. Quick looking into HCMPG looks like it can't. Which in the end leaves me wondering why it has a bigger powerplant. For the 4 CM's?
(Nevermind if i wrote blabla, it's late)
In a brilliant tactical movement, i charged backwards.
I think having two different ships that preform two different tasks is better than a single, versatile ship which can preform both. Why? Because it promotes team work and more player-player interaction. The so-called "Lone Wolves" starve to death. Wolves are pack animals.
If any changes need to be made, then clearly define the differences in roles between the Dessie and BC, rather than trying to create a hybrid.
What the hell i read this topic and i can`t believe what i am reading...BH ships are overall among most powerfull ships around...what are we talking here?
