Ive voted yes, due to the fact that I can barely hit people.

I suck at PVP yes, but I hope that this will make fights alot more fun, less annoying, and make fights alot shorter.

I don't like the suggestion too much. It will affect fight duration by skewing skill / firepower impact on a fight towards firepower. That isn't the way I would like it to go.

' Wrote:personally I disagree. Make weapons too fast and evasion will become worthless, and it will be down to who has more armour, meaning Light Fighters and Heavy Fighters become redundant once again. A fights' length varies greatly, two people of equal skill will have a long fight, two people of varying skill will have a short fight. And honestly I don't have a problem with non-stop fighting for three hours. It's more fun than a fight lasting 10 minutes, and then waiting four hours for the lockout.

this is funny ... every gun will get same buff so bad pilot will have faster weapons and easier aim ... so will good pilot and its still as it was on the beginning ... bad pilot will always lose what ever ship he is in ... weapon buff isn't affecting that at all

and humans in space ... looking for new stuff all the time its just matter of time when will they find out new technology to increase projectile speeds ( it would be oorp if weapons stay same for long period of time)

non-stop fighting for 3 h ... i don't know is that just me or i don't feel my arm after it ... 10 minuts ... *cough*
I will maybe be 2h now ... but still its better then 3 h ... people will still dodge maybe they will dodge more then now ...

I agree with weapons gaining higher projectile speed. 50 ... 100 ... 150 ... we will see how much

this is cool signature

I'd much prefer a damage boost. Faster speed just removes the aiming part, whereas increasing the damage just makes the ridiculously long fights shorter.

You can do a damage boost in several ways, and this is one of them. More importantly, this is the way that doesn't affect fighter vs capship balance.

And yes, 50m/s is not going to make any difference. 150-200 will make a difference.

For the vast majority of players, a 3 hour dogfights is not going to be fun. It's going to be tedious, tiring, frustrating, and possibly cause health issues. Skill should not be so overwhelming the deciding factor in fights that an ace will always beat an average player in a straight-up fight. Because sometimes people get lucky/unlucky. Honestly it's hard to represent when freelancer combat is nothing like any real-world combat we have experienced but it's supposed to be balanced for humans.

I would better say :

class 8 weapons should have a 150m/s speed boost. They are a use only for LF so let them get a higher accuracy since their damages are still low.

class 9 weapons should have a low damage improvement (about 10%) to go the way the missiles went ... they all got their power multiplied by about 1.5, They should not be the only one improved.

class 10 weapons ... same as class 9 I'd say

nommie weaps need a huge nerf:Pnah in fact they are like the class 9 should be.

That is an excellent suggestion, and in fact one could use a sliding scale of level 8,9,10 guns boosted at 150, 100, 50 respectively.

That being said it raises the issues of how to sync guns of different level. Some combinations of gun might be thrown out of sync, others would now fall into sync.

But the idea of a lower class (and damage), higher speed gun suitable for interceptors has merit - such a weapon is definitely for dogfighting.

But will said level 8 guns be worth it to mount on LFs? Sure they are faster, but they do less damage. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea. But if the class 8 guns aren't worth it, nobody will buy them. And if they are worth it, then VHFs will mount all class 8 guns.

Ech, my opinion is simple, perhaps its not envolved enough but still

We should improve weapons speeds by 10% or 15%.

Yeah not to much, but I think we should feel a bit of effect. And JInx, yes I feel the diffrence between Krakens and Buckshots.

Increasing the weapons speed reduce the avalability to dodge. That means in fighters / bombers fights the bomber will be nerfed compared to VHF. I think this would help to softer up another issue which is drawn into the light time to time.

And.. heh perhaps the fights will be shorteren, but who cares until the guns are boosted comapred to the explosives, I like it

i do hope everyone remembers why missiles were boasted?

missiles used to do a lot of damage to vanilla fighters ( as much damage as was intended ) - and lower damage to custom hitbox ships.

since we removed the vanilla vulnerability - we have NOT boasted the missile damage - as a matter of fact, we REDUCED it ( due to complaints ) to a lower level than they were intended to be.

going the way the missiles went means to reduce gun damage output.

and while i do believe you that you feel the difference, i still personally doubt it.

if you logged onto fighter 1 with a weapon called "weapon 1" having 700ms - fired a few rounds - and then logged out ... to relog on fighter 2 with a weapon called "weapon 2" having 750ms - but in both cases, you would not know about the stats at all...

i don t think you d feel the difference. - you feel them, cause you want to feel them. if you d not mix guns - and the buckshot ID card stated that buckshots were 700ms. ( as would every program that shows you the stats ) - and a BHG would never mix them with other guns..... - no one would ever think they are 750ms.
