@ Karlotta: This is my second account. I created this one because I wanted to get away from a certain individual who annoyed the heck out of me. So I created this account to avoid him. This becomes necessary some times. I may go back to my other account full time ... maybe when I get to my permanent residence (still living in hotels and such ... semi-homeless). Anybody that's a post-counter will have only one account. Not that everyone who's only got one account is one ... but I seriously doubt certain folks have multiple accounts ... you can probably figure out who those are.
I have almost 3000 posts and I do have multiple forum accounts. Right at this moment, three in total.
When the RP I do requires that I RP it with a separate account, or if it's just cooler that way, I create it.

Swift is definitely NOT one I would classify as a post-counter. But like I said ... you'll know one when you see one.
Those dedicated to their role play and like to be creative in the forums tend to have high post counts.
Those that like to take a serious topic and turn it into a joke are the post-counters. Sad thing is ... at least one thread I created on a serious topic ended up getting shoved into the flood section because these post-counters hijacked my thread.

Unless you use googlemail, in which case you can just add .'s in the email address as you see fit, making the forums believe it's a different acct, but all the mail from the forum getting sent to just the one email address. Handy stuff huh?
I have four forum acct's (two of which I haven't used for over a year) registered to the same email address that way.
(Note, my other active forum acct I have in order to join projects/factions/set up ne characters and not get hassled by admin questions while trying to play the game. It exists for my playing sanity.)
You can't allow yourself to be so easily pushed away from your own identity. No matter how much someone is annoying you. Would you change colleges and move to another state just because of a dickhead boss or co-worker?
It's a pretty low and weak tactic if your trying to use sheer numbers to win in an argument, not so much polls but more precisely, it just means that you're unable to, as another one just mentioned, defend your point and/or your point was **** in the first place. And when a decent amount of people find this out every annoying new guy that agrees with you will be accused of being you in disguise. Not necessarily that but basically it'll make even more leery about the authenticity of an argument or one the ones involved.
Erm... It wasn't offtopic - People sometimes create more accounts to not be annoyed by certain individual(s).
I have only 1 account...
That poll rigging is just bad... But whoever wanted it done must of really wanted something...
EDIT: woops... i just edited the wrong post... lol
I have one, I had one, I will have one.... And I am happy. There are situations where it would be better to stay anonymous... to avoid personal grudges in RP for example, BUT, decent RPer will never mix up feelings towards person and characer to character "feelings"...
Also when it comes to RP... In RP there are no avatars, sigs, whatever... That's why we do "Inccomming message, ID: ..." .
I see no reason to have more than one account, but well, if it makes you happy, you can have 150 of them. As was said above tho, you will never know with whom you are talking, how many times people votes in pools, if that guy agreeing isn't topic maker...etc, etc.... So on the other sight, I would restrict it to one or two (Let's say one forum and one RP acc).
Point: I don't think admins are trying to stop you from creating accounts, it's just that a lot of new people are incomming, forum host is a bit overloaded, and here comes, registration is lost.
Cheers,
Elvin.
I buy things I don't want to make an impression on people I don't like.
