For that I apologize. It's unfair and extremely discourteous.
An apology that I'm sure someone will use against me in the future, as concessions are always seized as ammunition.
The frustration stems in no small part because of the flood of PMs I'm getting from people complaining about a number of things which I shouldn't be allowing to get under my skin.
A number of the rules were re-written this weekend by a number of people, who spent far too much time when they should have been outside enjoying themselves. In that process some things slipped by, chiefly because they were taken for granted, such as the two year old rule about not engaging transports of any type with cruisers or battleships.
I'll concede that the language that we provided, under the assumption that it covered every single last vessel labeled as a transport or liner, did not cover the situation that you were in. Regardless of the fact that you acted without understanding of the engagement rules governing the ship you were flying.
You were not cheating, you were simply acting without a firm grasp of the situation, which could be accused with some justification as being my fault.
However. The sanction stands and will not be reversed.
However, again, I will compensate you from my own pocket for what was my own error in not noticing the difference between trader and transport when writing the rules this weekend. Please contact me over PM to arrange for that.</strike>
you should not do such a thing, as the sanction was sent today. but the killing of that transport happened right before the rule was added/changed.. the old rule stated no TRANSPORT should be attacked by a cruiser/battleship.
Saying "Leave the system" and opening fire is also not the way to engage anyone.. both you and the person who was with you said no more than 3 words than opened fire.
and yes take a bomber.. it is as efficient against transport as that cruiser

I am sorry also for letting the heat of the moment get to me and causing this whole situation to occur and then wasting your valuable time with this matter.
This is only a game and we all need to remember that fact, you admins do a lot of very hard work and need more recognition for that and without you people working so hard there would be no game.
I do not wish the credit or guns to be returned to me, they would be far better spent assisting a new player in need and as you point out I broke the rules and need to be more vigilant next time.
