Ah, come on. Every damned one of your swears in Skype, I don't see the purpose of this, apart from bringing even more frustration to the entire community. Sure, swearing in system/local chat is not okay, but for crying out loud, the other are called 'private/group messages' for a reason. No one forces you to listen to that one, you know ?

I would hope a FLhook thingy wouldn't punish or censor group or private chat. If someone involved really objects to it and the others don't stop, then they can be forum sanctioned.
This.

This.
And lastly, I wouldn't want to be slapped if I say 'cockpit' in any of the various ingame chats.

Don't fix what ain't broken.
Everytime someone swears, a fine?
Why not just go and .kick instantly.
No wait, make that an automated .kickban.
And let's extend the list of words after.
Let's add all the common in-RP 'nasty words' too while we're at it.
How about we start with 'scum'?
And how about every single 'scum' or 'damn', in-RP or not, earns you 30 Mins. of sitting outside, eh?
[color=#33FFFF]Goddamn, I don't think I'd be able to play the damn game much then.
Damn, I think so many damn people would suddenly find themselves at the damn boring end of the damn screen because they just said a harmless word, eh?
No, wait, damn me, I forgot to not overdo every damn thing... some people just gon' be broke after a fair damn while or something.
Serious'd:
We've got a sanction system for swearing and bad language.
'Sides, people can apologize after.
Now sure, not all do.
But some do.
I don't think they'd be as likely to do that when they suddenly got their money taken away.
Afterall, it's just words. Rite?
[color=#FF99FF]For the 'nasty words' outside of groupchats, we can screenshot and report.
If you're too lazy to do that then grow a pair and accept that someone just threw some 'nasty words' in your direction over teh internetz.
' Wrote:Since the staff and rules is against swearing, why don't we make a 'swear box' as inspired by a hilarious video shared to us all just now.
Everytime a certain swear word is ushered, a fine is imposed on the player in question, be it in private, group or system chat. After all, its all tracked anyway.
Sure its less freedom of speech, but this type of real crude language isn't needed.
Bloody and damn I hope don't get fined, since I use them sometimes.
Thoughts?
Great idea, its something i've been working on for a bit now. Which brings me to a question to the Admins: Would it be acceptable to run a utility (writen in visual C+) which does the following on typing of a swear word, lol, etc - close the dialogue window (by issuing an Escape) and doesnt send any of the current input. or replaces the 'offending' word(s) with something polite. This would be a voluntary thing which players could do to overcome 'accidental' cussing and thereby avoid a fine. I have a trial version ready if an Admin would like to investigate it.
My original idea was to increase the number of messages above the limited number for /setmsg as my typing skill is close to zero. This can perform a number of text input tasks such as open a /givecash window, enter a character name complete with all tags besides providing as many set messages as you want. Would any or all of this be acceptable. If so or to find out more please PM me.

Seriously though, if we were to rely on a program, lines of code, etc, etc to prevent swearing in a game, then heads would seriously need checking.
If something naughty slips into system chat, it is usually followed by a swift apology. Thank goodness, the sensitives are protected for another day!
Although, I have heard of cases where certain hypersensitive members have had this reaction to in-game swears:
Also, Loneshark:
[shouldn't have to come to this]
