I've said that before. But those wreck parts would totally kill server. But with these explosions, those shouldn't have any impact on the server...
On the other hand, if this was here, I would probably suicide pretty often just to see it.

like most games, freelancer does all the effects calculations client side based on a much smaller amount of data from the server. The server says what is going on and the client interprets it for itself.
so if the file is called bigboom, and it normally does a small explosion, when the server tells the client there is a bigboom, and you change bigboom, the effect changes only for the client.
Thats why when one person goes widescreen the server doesn't have to conpensate.

Not necessarily. Notice that there is no FPS fall in the video even tho he was recording it. Plus it could be an option, like the bloom effect we have now.
Speaking of nukes, why don't transports with nuclear devices cargo do some serious damage when they die? That could be useful! And with some pretty explosion.

First, a nuke isn't cheap to produce, m'kay? I wonder how every being in Sirius, even those with no Science background, can get such an equipment, strap it on his ship, AND manage to ALWAYS find ammo for it.

cuz noone has written an FLHook plugin that scans to see if they have those and then makes a damage radius around their explosion. Would be funny tho to threaten LPI/Pirates with a ship full of nukes XD
