As far as I know players who wanted to help others, just made a character with an angles tag and it was voluntary, if the player wanted to give his time to help others that was ok. it was never a faction.

Um.

The Angels is an official faction.

And you can't just tack the tag onto yourself without being accepted into the Angels. Plus, you can help people without the tag/membership.

That was something i found weird. Just tag yourself as a member of a faction even if you arent part of it??
Hmm... Helping even when not helping... Thats something that only xar can do :-D

Plus, you can help people without the tag/membership.

He means he needs tag to be recognized..
On many your questions some say: "// Damn, I'm bored, pm some Angels or smb.." and you're checking players list for Angel tagged chars.
Unfortunately, Angels haven't 24/7 online, so he wants he you too, in some way...:)

P.S.: My options to help new players is limited since i am a player too. So i want to ask if it is possible to receive aid from admins or GMs if necessary.

Admins are not called GMs. They never were.

We do not have player guilds here.

The Angels is lead by Sassafras. (I apologise if I spelt that wrong...;))

And don't make an OORP name with one of those tags in.

All you need is a Starflier, put a bit of money on it to up your level, and PM all the newbies that come out of Erie or OORP in system...

EDIT: And people pay more attention to your posts if you use correct grammar and spelling.

Well, one thing you can do while in game is scroll down the player list, look at their rank and location, and just touch base with them. Send them a pm in game offering help if they need it.

I keep a character or two at a starting level, (like a starflyer or Rhino) and use them to work with new players if they need help or a team mate (trading, mining, exploring, etc).

I think it is really good of you to help out new players when they arrive. A tag or a group isn't that important.
