some of you know how my Xeno char reacts when he sees pirate or terrorist from another part of Sirius...he basically attacks them and kicks them out of his turf..it is hard enough to pirate when NY system is so close...(namely Colorado..and rarely out of California)...every pirate should watch over his turf and protect it from other pirates...
With recent NovaPG intrusions to Colorado we lead quite nice RP turf war...
But also u will not see my xeno chars to pirate out of liberty...if u see me out of liberty (and that is extremely rare) i am usually after somebody who i wish to see dead, or going after some piece of equip...
You bring up a good point here. New York brings a unique perspective to this topic. You do not have the same situation for New London, New Berlin or New Tokyo so it makes it nearly impossible to pirate anything in Liberty. RP is nearly impossible since all they do is run to New York and hang out till the pirates leave.
Request to the admins: To make for more fruitful RP of Liberty Rogue affiliated pirates, why not open New York for pirate operations? Rules for not attacking under level 30 already exist so there's no problem with new characters gettin started. And the ID rule is still in place regarding Neutral ID. What say you? Give us Rogues something to keep us local. There's lots of trade happenin inside New York. Especially coming out from the Omicrons through Alaska. Too many times I've chased traders through Alaska, Colorado, California and Texas just to find I lose them in New York. Its frustrating and forces us to seek riches outside Liberty.
I can see the admins point of view, but this is a big server and sometimes the action is in Britonia or Kusari space. I say this as most ppl have seen me and my bud Rogue_81 on the server, and we RP Liberty Rogues. I'm not to keen on being restricted to pirating in Liberty or possibly the open systems between house systems. I'd rather not have to go the generic pirate route. Mollys/GC/Blood Dragons and Outcast our buds, we could in theory be assisting our allies in the Britonia and Kusari, it all depends on how you look at it. And that can be the same for others who RP other pirate factions. We will refrain from pirating in other than Liberty space as requested, but urge the admins to reconsider the decision. I do not think the SF and KNF mind our incursions to there space on occaision, we have had some fun battles. We dont setup camp there but come through once and awhile.
Pirating in NY should be allowed:
1) If the chase/pirating occurred outside of NY (chases are allowed)
2) for standard pvp lv constraints (both either over or under 30)(server rule)
3) away from Manhattan docking area (with the exception of 1)
(chase continuation, and don't pirate people that might be helping/waiting for new players or whatever else they are doing in that immediate vicinity)

Going 'where the action is', is part of the problem. That could be misconstrued as *cough* PvP chasing ...
Though in defence of the Rogue boys, they do RP their own traders, and have been seen allround the place
in the past. Different scenario. The Xenos have always stuck to their roots.
If you wish to RP specific factions, the histories of those factions should be taken into consideration when in
character. The Rogues and the Xenos in this case have a large catchment area in Liberty ...
NY, Colorado, Texas and California, then the rest ... Kepler, Galileo, Hudson, Bering, Humbolt, Puerto Rico,
Virginia, Illinios, Vespucci, Tau 45, Cassini, Minnesota, Mackenzie, Cortez and Magellan. Add Connecticut,
and thats a whole lot of space. The odd chases into bordering systems gives you a finger in every house
in Sirius ...
Could you handle any more than that ? ... Just using Liberty as an example here ...
The other specific pirate factions should be looking at there own catchments before saying we want to be
everywhere. Otherwise the Pirate ID is there for those just chasing the money ...

Why not use the generic Pirate ID, refrain from being affiliated with any NPC pirate faction and petition an admin to change your tag to say 'hostile' or 'pirate'. There could be a thread on the forums just like the name change thread. Maybe even have to buy a 'hostile' or 'pirate' name change certificate. *shrugs*
I'm emphasizing the tag since there's been quite a few unaffiliated pirates show up on my hud white/neutral. You could still have ties to the Rogues, Hackers, etc, but you don't hold their tag and you're not anchored to just Liberty space.
Interesting point Caylith... Since the Phantoms have their own faction and the SCRA are petitioning for their own, perhaps Nightfall could create a generic Pirate faction so that there's a "Pirate" IFF.
As to my RP as Rogue. My clan is the Nayehiya. Please read my clan's info on the Faction Status forum. We wear Liberty Rogue ID and IFF because there's no Nayehiya ID or IFF. Its the closest thing to Native Americans I could get. Nayehiya is Cherokee for "Native". My clan claims to be native to Sirius (not just Liberty). We were forced onto reservations (the various systems you find Rogues in). But we are revolting against our being forced onto reservations reserved for us by the House governments. As such, we pirate and cause mayhem among the houses. Unfortunately, everyone that sees Rogue ID and IFF make the direct link to the FL Rogue NPC faction. Again - my clan is Nayehiya. I do not want to switch to a generic pirate ID.
Perhaps then I should reconsider wearing a tag on my character's names to distinguish us from the traditional Liberty Rogue NPCs. Would this satisfy my clan's RP? After all, the SCRA is a faction that does not exist in NPC form, yet they are permitted to RP as they do.
RP seems to be in the eye of the beholder around here.
Well I think Attacks should be allowed in New York but you can't attack players under level 30 ( unless there with someone higher than 30 or in self-defense ) Pirates should be allowed to pirate outside their turf but not too far like a Gaian pirate can pirate in Omega-5 since its really close to Cambridge. But a Gaian can't pirate in Theta. Rhinelanders should/can be able to attack a pirate whether he is a Blood Dragon or Unioner. The bottom line is that he is a pirate.

but last time, that Liberty Rogues pirate in Kusaris, have a Rogues clan,,,,he can't has a Pirate ID...if he has it, he is not a rogue any more,,just a pirate
Losing argument - going in circles - waiving white flag...
I give up - better to just take on the NPCs. Too much emotion going against real people here. Everybody's got their own interpretation of RP. If I go strictly by what the reputation list under F8 (see screens below for my Blood Dragon) says for my characters, I'm wrong. I'm not going to argue this point anymore - its frustrating.
Here's a suggestion for all my pirate fellows - trade in your pirate faction ID for a generid pirate ID. You'll be less likely to be called for bad RP.
Also, please note that a Blood Dragon ID grants you the right to Trade. But that really doesn't matter since its something nobody really expects of a Blood Dragon.
