So if you say, hes a bad player because he is not doing what you want, you are the bad player, not him.
I'll keep that in mind next time then...
Although really, That's like saying "Instead of pointing a gun at someone and telling them to give you their wallet, you instead need to shoot them a few times in the leg to entice them to give you their wallet"
But if that's what I have to do, looks like I'm going to have to do it eh? So then, for future reference! I should CD a trader, hit them with a SNAC, and ask them to comply with my pirating.

Just so we're on the same page here... If I want to RP on an RP server, I should find tagged traders who trade for RP reasons, and leave non-tagged traders and non-tagged miners alone because they're doing it for the money and are too busy to RP on an RP server?
I run into a lot of people like that who just plain refuse to cooperate in the roleplaying a pirate. One time, I hail this guy on scanners, friendly hail just saying hi, his response. "Docking Bye Bye"

Well of course they don't want to talk to you. They don't know if and when you will decide to rob them. If you want a socia character either hang out with lots of other pirates or make a lawful character. Think about it, nobody hangs out with the guy hat robs him at gun point. They want to get as far away from that guy as possible, while shouting for the athorities to protect them and get thier stuff back. This is really a very silly comment.

Actually, for a trader, I have a few pirate friends whom I'd rather pay to protect me against other pirates or RP with.
It's about which way you want to swing your RP in, there is a diverse range of traders with different personalities. You'd never know unless you at least try to RP with them.
I like spirit of rules and all those things, but I don't like to be reported.
And that's what pirates usually promise to do when I tell them that trader is under my protection.
"You cannot ally with them, read ID, n00b" or something like this.
' Wrote:Hehe, I feel your pain, but it is kind of expected, isn't it? I mean, traders REALLY don't want to get pirated. IRL they'd do what they could to escape, so here, where there are far fewer and less drastic consequences, they will try, too. As a sometime pirate, I say pound him/her to within an inch of his/her life, and then ask politely for your donation again. If this doesn't work, start killing them all untill they give the 1 mill.
Of course, something to realise is that just because there is a trasnport with a full load that doesn't mean there is a full bank account behind it. The trader side of me is screaming, "If you want me to stop and pay the 1mill when I have it, then don't kill me when I don't have it." Nothing is worse than sinking everything you have into the shiny new ship and it's cargo and then being paupered by the resulting pirate attack.
Maybe demand cargo from time to time, or impossible things, like the keys to thier personal yacht. Traders are more apt to rp with pirates if it isn't, "Give me your millions or dai!" Yeah, you don't get anything in the end, but you aren't really pirating for credits, are you? Make a pirate trader to outfit your pirate and then go hog wild with it. Steal some poor traders wife, ravish his daughter. Make him watch as you burn thirty lots of his cargo, make him burn the cargo. These things can all be done without making the other player lose his hard earned credits and will result in the good rp you want.
See this is what i meant by both side's go bad time to time.
I have stopped and chatted with a pirate in my ALG TAGGED/ID'd and it's coming ALG Heavy mover. and he pitated me 1 cred.We both had fun RP and moved on. 10 minute's later i got a load of waste,it cost me 4700 creds to buy at 1 cred a ton. 1 TL away from where i buy it,a pirate shoot's me,and demande's the old fateful "3mil or die". When i try to RP that this cargo is worthless, and i make no money doing so,he kill's me.
All in all Pirate's RP just as good,or bad as trader's. Go's both way's.

No this is wrong. I have both Tagged, and non Tagged trader's.They all want to make money, and all want to RP. It is the person, not the ship that is good or bad for RP.

Well you cannot blame him. I stopped ,and chatted with a pirate, and when he got close just said "3 mil or die" then tried to kill me. Close to base so docked and logged off pissed off about the lack of RP.
Let's face it people. You got power trader's It is a fact.
ALSO. You have power pirate's,who want to just get rich quick without trading, or blow peep's up.
I find some just discusting. "drop all your ore or die" is 1 when a couple pirate train's are there with the pirate's. Just ruining it for other's while they soak up the cash, and land on bases not permitted to land on.

I'm not saying it's right. :( I not saying it's nice, either... :(I'm just realistic. Many people just trade to be able to set up a diffent char, and this second char is the one they really care to RP. I see your point... all my traders/miners are tagged exactely because I like to RP traders and miners; but I know quite well my tastes are not shared by everybody (ryoken seems to share my preferencies but this is not true for everybody).
I know that some people, for instance, strongly prefer to RP corsairs, but in order to have enough money to set up a corsair they are forced to trade. In few cases the not-RP traders are exactely the same people that when using a corsair char complain about not-RP traders... funny, isn't it?
You are right, this is an RP server and this kind of stuff should not happen... but they does happen! So hwo should we cope with it? Hundrids of sanctions? Maybe... maybe not.
Moreover, very often when a corsair annoys not-willing-to-RP-trader everything ends up either with sanctions or with flames in the forum...
hence, I would suggest that both sides should take it easier about this issue... :)

Maybe you are right, maybe I'm right. I think you are too drastic in drawing lines. I'm sure you are a wonderful Role-player both as a trader and as a corsair. But some people are very good only when roleplay corsairs or rogue or policemen and they really hate to RP traders but they do it only cause it's the faster way to make money.
Anyway, as I already told, it seems to me that there are far too many threads (and flames :nono:) in the forum about this kind of issues... come on... it's a game... let's try to take it easy. ;)

After my demand, if they keep moving, they start losing hull.
Yea that's is my way too.
First I tell them to stop if they try to run you cannot role-play with them much.
Demand to stop for second time or you will open fire and take down the whole shield
when they don't stop just blow them, I call this guys silent traders.
It is really stupid because if you want to RP properly they will run away.So do something in the middle with them.
