Hehe, the forums for Ass-ass-in's Creed...:lol:Stupid people are stupid.
Removing stuff like that is quite difficult to work. Besides, we all know that when you're getting cussed out the other player spontaneously loses the ability to spell, so you'd either have to cover a lot of misspellings (and hit a lot of innocent stuff in the process) or let anyone with half a brain get through it, a la Runescape.
Best to leave it alone, it's the easiest thing to report.
My experience from playing games with filters is that people just find ways around them. It doesn't stop swearing at all, instead you get abbreviations, leet speak etc.
In one game I played the name of a mob was censored because it had the word prickly in it.
I'm gonna have to say that I don't support this because, depending on the severity with which a potential filter, filters words...
I could predict that we'd soon see people near completely prevented from being obscene at all, due to a filter censoring even 'offensive' words, and not just swears...I think we can leave things the way they are.
Oh you mean like a system that automatically sanctions people?
Anybody recall the drama around dropping your cargo if you F1'd/disconnected? (which wasn't even a sanction unless somebody was within 4 km of you).
It is simple enough to write a swear word filter but it is hard to write a smart one and it is next to impossible to distinguish between RP insults and OOC insults.
What about no?
It's not your buissnes how I communicate with friends in my group chat. No harm done, no sanctions. Simple as that. It's same as placing videocamera in your room to specate for police officers or whatever if your not doing anything wrong.
What if the guy was writing it in group chat, but mixed up and it slipped to the local one? What if a person had bad day and it slipped it out? And another person who red it doesn't feels to be harmed in any way? Whats wrong with that? Damn?
Think of the kids, those sweet innocent kids so cute and perky untarnished by the reality of life. I support going a step further and removing any type of communication in game. It is the only reasonable way to protect the kids without fault.
