The strength and armor of the NPC's aren't a problem (I know, I've done the math and my loadout does 15k damage a second of 100% accurate concentrated fire)
It's the damage of their weapons, it needs to be raised, not much but enough to hurt. Also, capital ships are impervious to everything but huge swarms of NPCs.. which is wrong.
Well liberty is around for a reason.. The NPC's i'm talking about are the ones in the borderworld and external houses.
If you really try as a new player you can get pretty well into the game in New York.. When I started I began with silver in colorado, returning my hold until I could afford a Rhino, from there I did it until I could get into a loaded out Dagger and then rummaged through liberty making money off pirates till I could afford better.
I hate new york....too much OOC...and, I make Characters with an RP, and expect to RP from the beginning...so i run from New york, but i see your point...
can we do it on a by system basis...or...is this whole thread a suggestion for a ridiculous amount of work for something that will create lag?
Odds are it is something that can't be done without said ridiculous amount of work - Upgrading NPC firepower (as far as I know) increases player firepower.
the problem is light fighters+lag.
Igiss by the way said that taking missions cause lag to the server. I think he should consider those settings. When i did a lot of missions in the past, it was faster to kill level 13+ NPC pilots than level 5-8 Light fighters (it was harder vs heavy fighters, but they didnt jump all over the screen so you could actually hit:D)
Outcast is the worst since they use both nano bots and shield bats.
they really seems to move in unrealistic maneuvers, but with ping below 100 it shouldn't be a problem (some people will never get less than that tho).
NPC Legionnares and Daggers are the worst by far. It is actually easier and quicker to kill a Centurion. I avoid low level missions against Corsairs & Outcasts like the plague, unless it's "hunt & eliminate one dude".
BTW NPCs already carry armour upgrades. Ever tried to shoot down a Freelancer? Or when doing missions, it becomes obvious the difference in hull strength between (say) L.16 and L.18 fighters, even though they are the same ship type.
The Legionnaire problem is a lot worse when ya consider what a lvl 9 player is shooting them with. Drails? Dublin Dusters? I've spent over an hour on lowbie anti-corsair missions. Signing up for those is just begging for carpal tunnel syndrome. And yet you have to take them to keep your rep in shape (unless you're going corsair axis). Very annoying.
