The Corsairs want the base, and they're threatening the Zoners with destruction, leaving them little chance. How is that any different than the previous sieges on Yaren and Freeport 9 ?
There isn't a leadership, not even the ZA, which can speak for the entirity of the Zoner NPC faction right now.
As someone else mentioned already, some want to go on the offensive while others want to solve this issue through diplomacy. What's worse, is that Zoners themselves can't agree with the appropriate RP to take this situation forward. Ergo, some want to defend Freeport 9 while others are willing to give it away.
the TAZ and the OSI can speak - but mostly for themselves...
theta was thrown into disarray and chaos - that is what happens when there is no unity ( as was so often requested ) - there is not really anyone responsible - there are just countless individuals to deal with.
74 and the ZTC are preparing for further steps and unavailable at that time. ( consider them retreated to places unknown to most others )
edit:
"The problem was the Zoners acting like an organised house with massive pools of resources at their disposal, and also a few misconceptions that are going around discovery about their relationship with the Corsairs...."
that comes from one of the corsair leaders. - the situation now is pretty much the opposite of what the problem was. - the zoners are not acting organized as a house with massive resources anymore. deal with each one on a personal basis is the best bet for the time being.
for further political requests - you can always speak to the TAZ and hope that they might ralley the individual refugees that were thrown into chaos or the osi ( although they are more a trading faction ) - but i don t know if they d feel responsible for it.
anyway - other than that - patience is a virtue as re-organization in 74 continues.

saying 'we left the base and got rid of the biodomes so that you can't use them - PFFFFFFFFFFFFFT!' is just as good as saying 'bai. you can move in now, np' in my eyes.
There's been quite a lot of roleplay going on for both sides. We've had a good number of large scale battles. Very fun. And today we had a verbal stand off without a single shot fired. Also fun.
It's going to take a while to rally FP9 Zoner characters but in a few days we should be looking at more formal, representative negotiations.
I am willing to throw my hat in the ring. I have been living on Gran Canaria for the past few months, but maybe what is needed here is a Zoner that is an outsider so to speak.
Also, you need someone to speak for all zoners not just the ones at Freeport 9. Although, Freeport 9 is a the first step here.

First question would be why?
And if you'll manage to answer first, I would ask "how"?
I don't think there is a need of official guy who would speak for all zoners. Only one who would speak for freeport 9 which was basicly abandoned by the rest of the zoners to their own faith.
Now to make a diffrence of zoner npc faction I guess there will be a need some sort of agreement between entire faction to approve it. But to roleplay nagionations? why I don't get it.
Maybe I just don't see the reason, then please, point it out. After all this thread is made for it.
I thought corsairs wanted to negotiate freeport 9. But with the answer to my last rp post I think may be they want the station without giving anything in exchange. If it s ok on roleplay basis, it will failed due to the consent rule (am I right?). So don't waste time with rp and discuss it oorp between factions.
