Remove codename wrecks and, lets say...equip random NPC's (maybe Freelancer NPC's, or whatever) with codenames they actually drop when you shoot 'em down ?

I agree with it being unfair that players in certain time zones have more convenient access to code names and are able to able to harvest and sell them more easily than the rest of us. However, this is way oorp and kinda goes against the spirit of the game as it is, so it would be ridiculous to go to the trouble of shifting the server restart time around for it. Taking them off the wrecks altogether is a possibility, but as dodike implied, it would give those same people who harvest the codes an excuse to raise their prices even further. I believe that this idea would only work if the existing codename weapons were revoked so that they could be fairly redistributed, which would both greatly anger people who have them, as well as prove rather work-intensive for those responsible for effecting this. The most practical alternative, in my opinion, would be to either randomize the appearance/location of the wrecks, or simply randomize the appearance or codename weapons on the various wrecks.

I have played on another server years ago. There was a similar solution, but not for codes. In this mod were special upgrades availible, which only became dropped. The drop rate was ~3 highend items in around one hour...

Result: 20% of the server population was on hunting after NPCs only - to kill them in masses.

A bad idea for this nice RP server.
