Allright. I'll grab the current BW snubline (Scimitar, Switchblade, Sabre, Falcata) and do a retexturing/Maltification on them. Orange cockpit, Maltan emblem... shouldn't take too long. I imagine the balancer devs will simply give them the existing stats in that case.

Bad reason: As drug smugglers you don't want to stand out;)

Well, if the Sabre is getting the rumoured nerf (no one go crazy now) as it is really fast with a stupidly high strafe, perhaps the OC versions of the ships can have a little buff to them, as they are supposed to be superior at building and such.
Though I suppose that's a little something for the balance team.
Our cap ships are based off of the Borderworlds ship line, though. You'll need to design a ship that is very reminiscent of the Sabre and our capital vessels.

No, I'd rather have the OC line mirror the Borderworld line in stats to the letter, just as the RoS ships are to do. This will also prevent any brain farts from the "balance" team. :P ... and it makes things way easier to balance.
But yeah: Keep the current models, but slap Maltese stuff on them and change the textures a bit; All we need is a bit of distinction from the other Borderworld ships while still looking like them.
That makes things easy, for everyone involved. Can do. Might not even need different infocards in that case... just referencing to the current ones will suffice.

All that really needs to be done is to tweak the infocards- as you said- and come up with Maltese-sounding names for the fighters.
Oh, and I feel that I must thank you for doing this one more time.
if the BW line can be reskinned for OC, can the mollies get reskinned ships, so we don't have to fly around with lolberty rogues branded across our buttocks?
One thing at a time Coin;). If the Mollies want their own shipline or skinning job, that can be handled, but you probably should post that in a seperate request. This topic is for Outcast ships.
I've not forgotten about this request, 'though hitboxing (and enjoying the game itself) kept my busy for a bit. Want to get this handled soon-ish though, but I'm not very good with graphics. But I doubt I need to be for copy/paste work.
Does anyone have a proper Maltese cross in an image, preferably with a transparant background? What I'll do is simply graft that onto the existing borderworld texture, and apply that specific texture to a few sections of the ship (likely the "wings" on either side of the cockpit). And add some orange ambient color to the cockpit and you should have the desired effect. It should result in a ship that can easily be distinguished from a normal borderworlds craft, but the changes would be cosmetic only. The different ship does open up the possibility for better stats but that's up to the balancing folk.
