Increased pay out for cargo will just mean Larger pirate demands,and more Pirates. The whole ship gone if Dead is just a BS idea. Sorry to be so blunt,but you did not get it in the first topic. Ships gone when you die,will just mean Discovery is dead within a few weeks as everyone who does not have multiple ships to trade with to earn for others with all rage quit.

Yes hopefully this will mean more pirates, and so more lawfuls - more activity.

Sure it makes sense,but I still don't want to make 10+ trade runs because I did a friendly PvP in Connie.

Well, if possibleI would say this is de-activated in conn, if not you could always use discovery of discovery server.

I doubt there are more people around then you can count on the fingers of one hand who like to role play a trader. I personally dont want to be a trucker in this game, i want to play my "main" characters. Just NO! Also when you are not running a full prim BS - to equip a BS takes time, not all the equipment is sold at one base and one system - if i should equip one BS like it is equipped now, it would me take through 2-3 systems and 2 bases - so you can count 30-45 minutes + of setting up when you are lucky and you remember your previous ship's setup.

As I said in my origional thread, this would need all bases to stock almost all gear, so you wouldnt have to run from system to system.

Put simply, no. It won't work. Having to work for your ships over and over is just adding to the grind that this game already is and is totally unnecessary. People will play traders/miners/whatever when they need money...which just so happens to be all of the time in this game. Might I also inquire as to what getting the older more experienced players trading will do exactly? If they are doing it because of this idea...chances are they'll be going hell for leather to try and get back their main characters ship...and not really bothering to role play anyway.

No. Just plain no. This will make the game unplayable for the casual player who is just here for a good time and not for too much pvp. This will also increase the emphasis of the server on PvP instead of roleplay.

A creditwise penalty relative to the value of the ship is something I would support (IE: Capship goes boom, you lose 5% of the ship value in credits, which is quite a lot. No credits? Guns damaged to make up for the value - so you can end up with no guns on the ship).

What do you mean? Hopefully this would reduce the amount of people mindlessly attacking for no reason, because they stand to lose their ships. Also, PVP isnt mutually exclusive with RP

also the server would be dead within DAYS.

If you were merely talking about losing a ship - that's just some credits, not really too big of an issue. But you're not - because you haven't fully thought this through (as usual).

You've forgotten the minor detail that to get that shiny battleship, you have to rep up a ship to guard rep - which means how many hours worth of missions? And based upon your proposal, what happens when you fail a mission and you die? Oh, that's right - you lose your ship. So that means you're having to start over again.

And of course that doesn't include your shiny trader. Oh, look, you've lived long enough to get up to where you're using an A-Train now, to get your money! (And don't forget THAT ship cost you quite a bit of money, too.) Here's comes Mr. 2milordai - oh, you didn't respond within the 3 second time limit he set - so now you lose your A-train, and have to start all over again.

Of course people don't have to KNOW that the server would die - it's quite OBVIOUS that the server would die, and doesn't need to be tested or trialed. I don't KNOW that this is one of the stupidest ideas I've ever seen - but it's pretty obvious...

Ok most people didnt like my shiploss on death idea, <(see origional post for points) mostly because they dont want to trade for ages to buy a new battleship, despite the fact that we need people to play as traders/miners the most of all - especially experienced players, and it's nonsensical for them to be throwing away battleships anyway.

But! What if all commodity prices were multiplied by 10? Then earning would be much faster - an average 8 mill run would net you 80 mill instead!

As a plus if it encourages old players to trade, then it helps the community.

You can't magically multiply commodity prices in an instant.
As I wrote on the other thread, this concept needs to be proven outside of the main server first. I don't see the future where you force it onto the current character and player base as likely.

So really, Hone - some things are just like that ... nobody will believe it's possible unless someone does it.
If you want a hardcore server, set it up. I would play there, because I like challenges.

It's highly unlikely that you'll turn DiscoGC into one.

So, are you going to set up the server or let it be?

Actually you have just misunderstood (as usual?) This is SHIPLOSS, not character loss, you still have all the same rep and credits ect - your char ejected.

As for losing you trade ship, yes? so? 1: It will be easy to get back with increased commodity, 2: It will encourage people to use not just the 5ks - ptrans/border worlds transport (I dont use a 5k) 3: use an escort.

I am sorry. And do not care now if you take this as insulting,but your being a turd,and one who knows nothing of big ships.
A fully outfitted BS with big guns,and cap VIII is about 1.8 billion. Now their is no fracking way anyone wants to save up that kind of cash over,and over because a gank squad wants to PvP it. And that will increase 1000% if the gank squads know they are killing a BS for good.
Also a new player comes to Disco. He works for 5-6 hours to make enough to get a fully modded VHF,then poof! someone kills him. Guess what? THAT NEW PLAYER NEVER COMES BACK!!!
Some people play here for fun,and have only 1 Character,and do not trade to get it. So you are just being stubborn. This is thread 2 that most of the player base has said Hell No!

I now ask for admin or mod to close a thread that has no point what so ever. PLEASE?

Edit: Obviously this is not going to happen on this particular server. But if you really think it's worth trying, go and make it happen. Or find someone who will - who isn't afraid of experimenting.

550 million? Wow. Go buy a bloody BS already. My liberty dread cost 700mil empty. Most BS's come with BS scanner so you have to pay that 250 mil. Also Mortar's,and other big guns cost several million each.
My dread with cap VI cost 1.2mil fully fitted.

Just give it up mate. It is not going to happen. Look at the votes. And 1 of those yes's was you i am sure. Unless you want Discovery all for yourself? GIVE IT UP!!
