I'm sorry that you are not enjoying your time here. The incidents you describe:
' Wrote:- Gank Squads
- Pirates demanding 10 mil knowing full well the person cannot pay it (just looking for a way to get a kill in)
- Official factions making demands contrary to their ID/IFF and claiming alliances contrary to their ID/IFF reputations
- Mercenaries attacking for no reason other than you're there in front of them
- Constant gunfire with no role play at all until you blow up and then you get the "lol" or "pwned" comments
- Outnumbering and overpowering an opponent in the extreme is not against the rules.
- We are examining the role played by factions in determining their diplomacy.
- Mercenaries who do this face severe penalties. It is relatively easy to establish if they are breaking the rules concerning mercenary work. Report them.
- People who don't roleplay and attack others face serious consequences. Report them.
I imagine being told to report stuff is possibly the last thing you need to hear. It is unfortunate that we rely upon good players to do the footwork when it comes to identifying the players who violate the rules. Any alternative would be considered.
' Wrote:Well in the last couple months I've come across very little of what this server advertises as role play. So far I've experienced the following:
- Gank Squads
- Pirates demanding 10 mil knowing full well the person cannot pay it (just looking for a way to get a kill in)
- Official factions making demands contrary to their ID/IFF and claiming alliances contrary to their ID/IFF reputations

So where's the role play? I try to talk to people in-game to resolve stuff, but get responses like "get over it", "lol", "its a game deal with it", "quit QQing" or complete silence. From the majority of encounters I've had here over the last couple months I'd classify this server more as PVP than RP.
You noticed that just now? My sugest get away from Lolberty.

I try to... I find my own RP, and each time I try to play my own role - then some LolbertyNavy kill me - becouse I show him as a red target... No RP no nothing,
and when I try to make an RP of that situation, all what I find is some fines from "Lolberty Republic" and no even shadow of RP behind that, just like no punishment (even inRP) for atacers.

Liberty is for tough people, if you can't stand it just go to Disneyland system.
I have generally stayed in the borderworld systems but do venture into the inner sphere on occasion with a cargo or two.
Sadly, I am finding that poor RP has established itself outside of the normal suspect systems but I guess it's something I have come to terms with.
It tends to gather around cash rich hotspots (although it is not tied to them). Combat is prized equally with creds in these areas.
Mercs, pirates, law enforcers, shippers, miners and unlawfuls all battle for supremecy and it's the fertilizer that draws the flies.
50% want creds, 50% want combat above all else, drawn by the knowledge that something resembling an enemy will be there.
When faced with that, RP goes out the window. The RP rules get satisfied merely as a formality before action begins.
To top it off, people bring their grievences here to the forums to rant and snipe at one another in some adolescent display of penis waving. This then gets carried back into the game and so it goes on.
I suppose you can't take the child out of the man. although I'm not sure half qualify for men sometimes having read a lot of the stuff here. Just read the rant threads. The same names keep coming up over and over. Attempts at wit and sarcasm come thick and fast from them, as well as remarks designed to inflame the topic and derail it.
Wow. Just read that back. That last bits depressing. I'll have to say something positive so...
In Game:- I think all of the above but I still play. The magic isn't gone. Only the possibilities diminished.
The forums:- There is a LOT of good stuff and there are some real gems. Not all of it is cobblers.

oh my god, you're right ... I should really go to Disneyland...
no, wait... You just add some stupid comment
And if by 'tought' people You mean PvP wores, and Lolwuts - then, yup, Liberty is just fine for them...
I am not saying that all are 'tought -like a brick', some people try to RP, but for my bad luck - I meet to many who are not.

That is a tendecy indeed. Since I'm not that long here yet, I can't tell how it was years ago... I ride with the changes and tendecies, I try to pick up the roleplayers and attempt to ignore the ones who aren't that skilled.
Sometimes hard to perform, especially in Liberty..

Being outnumbered is one thing. Being so overwhelmed that its not fun is quite another. Everyone should have at least a chance of survival. That's part of the fun. But when there's zero chance of you escaping and you're pretty much insta-killed, the fun is one-sided.
Pirates aren't the only ones demanding 10 mil these days. I actually witnessed a BAF bomber demand a 10 mil "fine" for a trader undocking from Planet Leeds with Military Vehicles. Another annoying thing about official factions is their stranglehold over everyone else. Its great that a faction has some RP restrictions because of the RP wars going on within the houses. But 10 mil fines? And pirates with 10 mil demands? That's excessive. Maybe back when the Gold Ore was plentiful in Dublin, but those days are gone. I think its time for a maximum limit to be placed on credit demands.
Does Rule 0.0 have any meaning on here? Or is that just words on a page? Not much consideration for others from veterans I've encountered. And there's certainly no such thing as fair play in the minds of many.
Quote:0.0 Be excellent to one another. Consider the people around you. Keep fair play in mind. It's a game and nothing is gained, or lost, save the experience. Credits can be re-earned. Ammunition replenished. If you become infuriated step away. If you make a mistake apologize. If you wish to remain in system after you die, or after someone has moved away, simply ask.

Considering Liberty is where the new players start, it should be above reproach in RP from the veterans and official factions. I can understand some ridiculous stuff from new players, but veterans and official factions within Liberty should not be encouraging lolwhutery.
