The only thing is, Warhalk, is that not all smugglers smuggle all the time. They shouldn't be persecuted when hauling legal goods in lawful space where they don't have a history of getting caught.
Would someone be so kind as to post the regular Freelancer Trader ID here as well? Because yes i now realize this flaw in the smuggler ID.. But we could still RP a smuggler with a Trader ID, or so it seems. Drake we may just end up using the Trader ID now that i think about it.

Maybe not. But then they are traders who sometimes smuggle IMO, and not Smugglers.
I have a slave liner with Smuggler ID,and all it carries is Contraband.
I had a Whale that traded and the odd time would smuggle. Which was transport legal goods in eyes of zoners from 1 zoner base to another, but factions called smuggling in thier space.
I have [ALG] train. Purely legal goods only. Infact mostly Toxic waste,and other fuels/dangerous goods.
All i am saying is Smuggler ID is a RP ID. Do not want to RP a smuggler then just choose a generic trader ID.
The Freelancer Trader ID is pretty close to the smuggler ID. Just leave out the mention of smuggling in line 1, remove the line about lawfuls engaging them, and add a line saying they can't participate in unlawful actions. And they can't use Ptrains.

The Freelancer Trader ID prohibits unlawful activity. The Freelancer Frelancer ID Can trade and escort traders.
I'm thinking that Warhawk is on the right track with this. If you want to smuggle you better have a smuggler ID but be prepared to have people object to you being a smuggler, but you can land on lawful bases to do your smuggling.

ID can be engaged with any cargo. Not can be engaged with no cargo. A lolwut shooting a smuggler with no cargo is no different from a lolwut pirating empty traders for 10mil. THEY ARE LOLWUTs They al just want blue message
Let me put it another way. I am in my LSF GB. I see a lone outcast fighter. I ask him to leave, he is not wanted in Liberty, and he leaves.(probably 1 TL away to start over). Now lolwut will yell Outcast, power guns, engaging pew pew.
IDs never have, and never will stop/deter/encourage lolwuts.

We can't be engaged if we don't have cargo, that's the good thing i suppose.

Well then it's settled. If you want to be a smuggler (in our faction's case, yes), then you need a Smuggler ID. I guess we'll just have to be more sneaky. It will be an interesting experience for smugglers none the less.
