I personally dont care much about the looks and stuff- as far as any faction is not mega nerfed in PvP( corsairs in 4.86 for example or Mollys/Junkers in 4.85)
However having so many systems even on full server you need a lot of time to find some one to interact with- that is the major 4.86 fail- more silent traders, more alone play.
I like the team play I still cannot understand why people complain when you got 4-5 team-mates and you win in PvP together(ganking)- if you are organised enough why not?
With adding more and more systems and more and more factions, together with closed factions you just promote playing alone.
The other thing that I noticed that all closed factions except SCRA are here only for PvP and their RP is like /l1 /l2 pwew pew. It is interesting phenomena.
My option is to delete all guard systems and reduce systems that are also not that visited-at least 20-30 that are visited once per day, everyone wanted to remove eta but it got moved, same with the few useless systems that were added and too.

Very long introduction to last two paragraphs:). Can't agree more.
By the way. Is it possible to have a vertical trade lane? (i.e. orthogonal to the plane). It would be better to let existing systems sprawl vertically than add countless more just for the purpose of placing guard bases somewhere. That could add some value. I recall few systems that look better from above/below the plane.
Feel free to PM me regarding any grammar/spelling/other language mistakes I have made in my posts.
firstly: - you are asking for a lot. disco hasn t exactly many resources when it comes to artistic ideas like starscapes.
secondly: - most of the "fun" in disco is self made. - cosmetics and balance only provides so much fun ... the most important part is done by the players themselves. - how fair they play, how much they cooperate, how exciting they act ingame etc.
in short - the most important factor are the players themselves. if you want to exploit the vertical axis for example - you may be able to build a station FAR above or below the ecliptic once playerstations are enabled.
all in all - we try to do as much as we can. - and thats the point. - "as we can.." - the disco dev team is not Bethesda - we cannot make something like Skyrim or code a new unreal engine ... what we can do is limited. - i am sure we are not as good as the Freeworlds dev team. - luckily - we do have a lot of players still.
Jinx, OP has a point. A big one. Disco can be described as a jack-of-all-trades, mod is solid, but if you look at other mods, we dont really excell in anything other then playerbase.

Thank god this isn't bethesda, have you seen how many bugs skyrim has?
Regardless i think you missed the point. He is asking for a lot yes... But it's not wrong to criticize something that CAN be improved, even if it takes a LOT of effort. It's obvious that some systems have more effort put into them than others. But it just feels like some are in there just for the sake of it. Quality over quantity and stuff like that.
Both Jinx and OP have good points- I will point out again that the fun is not in fancy looking stuff but in player to player interaction. If we have and we have right now 220 people on-line then interacting with them create the nice value that disco have. My only problem is that the new update does not allow more player to player interaction but less since there are too many systems. There are tons of new games that can offer better features and fancy stuff for sure but the value is indeed in the player base. I would say less systems and more player interaction but who am I to be listened to`?
