King's Quest VII. It had a world in it where if you stood in the same place for too long, the boogeyman would climb out of the ground and eat your flesh. There are literally hundreds of different cripted deaths.
I think the problem with a lot of games is that when they came out, I was quite a bit older than you guys were, so they just didn't hit me.
What DID scare me was playing Doom3 on the Xbox 360 - on my tv in the basement (65" projection) in the dark, with the audio going through my surround sound system.

Played Phantasmagoria 2 back than. For a while. Can't say why. It would be interesting to try it again. This time armed with English comprehension. Though I remember some scenes I -still- consider deeply disturbing, even while my classmates tell me I watch sick movies. And that's a group that studies movie theory, not some softies.
