Anyone else find it ironic that shortest way to Bretonia leads through Gamma?
Might as well lolraid gamma with this entire force since its gotten this retarded and oorp already I dont see why not :nyam:
First of all, no one was combining anything. BAF and Ku. Exiles started shooting the base and then Hessians appeared and opened fire on it also. It was a surprise for everyone that they came to support.
You can check the logs and i am sure that you wont find any chats between both sides with requests to come. That's why i want to ask a logical question, what was Bretonian side sanctioned for? Or we just had to open fire on Hessians and tell them to scram?
I agree, there was a little bit of "yalalala" there, but it wasn't worth a sanction.
BIS|Agent.Coldstream here, I would like to contest this sanction.
Counter-Argument:
The BPA/BAF/BIS often receive assistance from Molly's (Bretonia's longest standing enemy) Kusari Exiles (Former enemy whose leader is considered a war criminal) against the GRN, even the Outcasts who have no interests in Bretonia save a single base in Newcastle assist against them.
Yet it is deemed OORP and sanctionable for us to accept the uninvited assistance from a group whom Bretonia has little dealings with in comparison to the Molly's or the Kusari.
Justification
According to the Disco story and as our RP has been dictated to us, Bretonia is on the verge of collaspse after a draining war with the Kusari, a constant battle against Corsair encroachment and now a battle for survival against a massively overwhelming force of Gallia. So great is Bretonia's need of assistance that it is considered common and accepted that Molly fighters are to be granted amnesty when assisting against the Gallic forces. So desperate in fact that even the hated leader and war criminal, the Exiled Emperor of Kusari, is welcomed in the fight.
Considering the aforementioned state of affairs, I find it hard to believe that Bretonia could possibly refuse uninvited assistance against a common enemy from a group that has very little dealings within Bretonia but do not wish for their enemy to gain an advantage.
Some may argue that the Hessians have no RP interests in Bretonia or Cambridge. I would counter argue that the Corsairs do have an interest in Cambridge, that in turn would create an interest in Cambridge (denying advantage) for the Hessians, justifying their presence within system.
Conclusion
I put it to the admin team that the destruction of the Corsair base in Cambridge and the Hessian assistance, though uninvited is justifiable both logically and in terms of RP as dictated by the current storyline. Furthermore I would like to take issue with the punishment, forcing all participants through Corsair space with their armour and weapons unbound can be considered nothing more than revenge for the loss of the base. It is not punishment for rule breaking but rather punishing us for working as a team to take down a base, which if I am not mistaken was the goal of player owned bases.
I would ask that all ships be replaced to their original positions within Bretonia with all items intact for this gross injustice of punishing the many for the error of the few.
This is Kentane speaking ...
I was just sitting there and shooting the base, someone in our group said: "hessians should stop their attack" - just for the server to not crash again - after that ... "someone should call the hessians" - and they came and shoot at puerta del infierno.
Char Kentane is just a gunboat, what can I do if some other group leaders invited RH's in group ? I just folowed orders received from BAF|HMS-Royal.Sovereign: "Shoot the damn base".
Now, I'm affraid even to log in in that char, what if some corsair ships catch me on my way back to bretonia ? I will be most likely killed ... and you said: "Suiciding or Death may prove expensive ..." - what can I do ? I don't have cloaking device on my ship.
The only reason for sanctioning us, is the fact that we were in the same group. Plain and simple. Brets and KusEx were within ZoI doing what they were supposed to do. Hessians were a little bit out of their ZoI, but not enough for a sanction. I also think it's funny that the IMG-tagged transport, filled with ship hull panels, that tried to dock on the base while we were shooting it, isn't on the sanction list. That's interesting, don't you think. As someone pointed out... The shortest way home is through Gamma. Or are we supposed to stay out of Gamma entirely. Could be interesting to know up front, so we don't get another lolsanction.
I would like to remind you all that Hessian ID has Cambridge in it.
Also i guess this sanction can be justified rule-wise, just not the spirit-of-the-rules-wise. RP over OORP, anyone? But alright. I think we can all agree that it made sense inrp, and that BAF and RH are not even hostile with each other to begin with. But since ID is very, very evil, and rules are supposed to be followed no matter what (Dura lex sed lex), i guess we'll just not group again while doing the same in future, if that happens.
However, i would like to add that [RF]Chimaera wasn't present in Cambridge, he was just in group for some time. Same for [RF]Hammer - they were defending O-11 at the time and got lost between groups.
I accept this sanction, especially since it's a pretty light and funny one. Gonna farm some noms since i'm there.
But anyway.
I would like to request the change to Red Hessian ID: last line should be read as
Quote:Cannot ally with any military or police players except for against non-Rheinland invasions into Rheinland and territories directly bordering it or Corsairs.
This will not become a fully fledged alliance with BAF for obvious reasons, despite Bretonia sending that delcaration of support and all that jazz, they would not like to risk their relations with rheinland in times of peace in the open (that might change if rheinland goes friends with gallia, tho). Neither would RH want to fly around with BAF for Mollies to see. But sometimes, operations like that make sense.
What's really interesting here, is the fact that very shortly after this sanction was posted, many players logged their ships to get back home. When they exit the JH, there's a corsair fleet there ready to pwn. So... How is that possible InRP? How is that even possible OoRP, since it takes longer to fly those ships from Gamma, than it takes to cruise 350k in Lost? How did they get that intel in time to get their ships to Lost JH?
The fact that all ships had their CAU's unmounted, and just to be on the safe side, also had all their regens emptied, makes this stink to high heaven. It would have been the same thing to strip the ships in the normal manner (guns, armors...), but then there would be no deniabilty. This way you can wash your hands and say... "We didn't take those CAU's!" But you did! You just don't wanna own up to it.
As far as Metagaming goes... maybe it's time to start looking at what's really going on in Disco!
