As much as you want. The worst thing that can happen is that your victim won't pay.

One admin recently claimed more then total value of cargo was sanctionable. So if hauling ore worht 40Mil? 20 mil is allowed rule wise. Which does suck if you payed for that ore, and not mined it, but them the rules.
That sanction mentioned was for a guy pirating 20mil from trader, and then shooting him after he paid. And 10 mil for an empty frieghter that was not even worth that much. Plus he gave no time to pay.

Actually your wrong, and worst thing that can happen is you get reported, and lose cargo/guns/armour/cash, or even turned into a starflee.

Why did you change your text's color? Is this supposed to be admin green colored text? Because then it needs to be brighter like this.

http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?sh...5547&st=420 and read the next 2-3 pages there, they are supposedly being more serious about "unreasonable" piracy demands since the caps were allowed. The way I read it, is if the pirate cant haul the ore then he cant demand credits in excess of more than 30% of its value, since he's just extorting to blow it up

There was a sanction for it too, I dont see it right away and didn't look very hard.

Where did it happen?

also , It's okay to even make a trader drop his entire cargo.
so I think Ursus is wrong about the 30%
He was IMG dude hauling Cobalt Ore and I was Rogue. Not to mention rule lawyering in PM and OOC in local, he did alright as a person who got pirated for half of what true-to-RP Rogue would do.

Nah, I do this, then skype a buddy to come smuggle it. Or PM a Junker ingame, or sell it to other passing traders/smugglers (eg: "if you wana live, you better buy this ore for -x- credits" most are greedy enough to do it for the profits).....

Also check the sanctions on May 13th, one of them is relevant to the new policy

Let me clarify these points I made, those are baseline situations, if you've gotten past this pirate before, or annoyed him, or been rude to him, sure he's gonna ask for way more than 33% of your cargo, if you're Synth and the LWB have you by the short and curlies, if you're hauling alloys to a player base, all these things are going to affect the pirates price.

And in future don't bloody use my skype quotes as gospel Admin decision, they are, for the most part, my opinion. ~ Del

The other thing with the cargo is that the ID of the trader AND the pirate matter a lot.

If you're taking gold from Dublin, then chances are that Molly is going to have you drop your whole cargo, regardless of HOW big it is or how much it's worth, that's the RP of the Mollies. You'll run into the same thing with some of the Liberty pirates as well, because they're nationalistic groups.

But your typical Corsair or Outcast - nope. Certainly shouldn't be demanding huge amounts. They've no reason to do so.
