That's the equivalent of 40m at 8000 per cargo, assuming he had a freighter with 5000 cargo. Definitely report. Note though, in the case of Helium-3 2m would have been justified - 8m is arguable but somehow I doubt you had He-3. I digress, this is sanctionable yes - 4000000 (demand) / 500 (cargo) = 8000 (demand per unit) which is not cool at all.

My brother is in an Armoured Transport and had about 50000 credits worth of Red Hessian pilots on board. So yeah.

Now hold on one minute, the Pelican (Armored Transport) is a transport with 900 cargo not a freighter. Also, having pilots of a faction they are at war with is a plenty fine reason to increase the demand. Still ridiculous but not nearly as ridiculous.

Well if he has evidence of the demand with time stamps then he should make a report using the template.

Most of pirates carry a Feelancer IFF,just look at his/her ID. With Freelancer ID it's not legal to pirate traders, but with a Pirate ID....

Yup, as Mr.Plague has said, many pirates have a Freelancer IFF.

As a general rule, do NOT count on a Freelancer IFF being friendly, especially if you are a trader.

These days I treat a FL IFF as hostile until proven otherwise.

A possibly very ordinary signature coming soon.

They both broke rules. Welcome to Disco. Lolwut capital of all Freelancer servers. Learn to screen every encounter like the rest of us. As 50% of who you encounter is a lolwut looking for a blue message.

Ironically most of the traders are just as bad.

But yeah, OP, assume FL IFF'd ships are unfriendly. Be dubious of them.
