Welcome to Liberty. Enjoy your stay untill an 11 years old LNS indie admiral starts talking about Nomads and the Order.

As well as AIs, it looks like everyone can hack them. Not to mention all those talks about Sol and such.
Also I wanted to point that some common pilots are very experienced in many branches of engineering, science, naval art and so on despite their young (iRP) age.
If you encounter such individuals and if your current character isnt aware of the Nomads and such. RP he is crazy and that you dont know what he is talking about. Mabye report to the nearest Police or Navy officer and associate him/her with the Alliens. Trust me it works fine and it is always fun.

Exactly what my character did, iRP he knows nothing about Nomads, only some rumors, so he did not believed in their existance when he saw some occassional morphs around Manhatten.
He didn't even after Marduck in Kepler.
Oh Arthur it means a lot, believe me living with parents and not sustaining yourself alone means that someone else do it for you- this means that this someone else protect you from the Real World. Step 1 is living alone and step 2 is making your own money.
When you enter in the real world alone and start with the small day to day challenges then you could judge the on-line world non real stuff things from other PoV.

I've always been sure to keep note on what some of my chars know that others don't. Ofcourse Capt. A Hill knows a lot about the other 3 and pretty much all of the combat incidents (Because obviously they'd all be reported to him by the lower ranks under his command) but obviously some of my chars feel differently about different things.
For example Capt. A Hill doesn't like getting into fights with order, as he cannot understand why we're hostile to them in the first place. Cmdr. S Eversman knows this and despite disliking the order will avoid them if he can. Neither Liet. D Roberts or Liet. C Murray know about the fact that Capt. A Hill dislikes the order so they get into scraps with them quite often.
I dunno maybe I'm just over complicateing it. I do have a habit of looking at coms and stuff that are not sent to me. But that hasen't effected my RP. I know OORP that the junkers are up to quite a few things I don't like the sound of. But that hasen't stopped me doing IRP interactions and even cargo exchanges with them, even if I know I could be funding questionable things by doing it.
