I'd say that this is hardly true. When I initially applied way back in 2008 (Not two months after joining Discovery) My character very nearly got executed, but I managed to impress them toward the very end, thus I was spared and accepted:crazy:
Anyways the point is that things have changed now, for the better.

And sort of, but not really.
*shrug* I don't see it as a bad thing.
Now we have a conventional application process, and a questionnaire.
However part of it still includes an inRP 'interview', and the probationary period as a Militsyoner, during which, should a recruit fail to meet the set expectations, they can be dismissed or even terminated.
Anyway like the initial post said, We've made the changes so that not so many people are afraid of applying. the SCRA really is a unique environment to RP in, and we want more people to have a chance to experience it and enjoy it as we (the faction members) do.
'Rawr basically wrapped it up in a neat little bow.

And sure, the way we managed recruitment was unique, but it also seemed to deter people. I mean, before Tabby, the last application that got through was... back in May. And we've lost a few members since then, too.
Well you're very likely to get a fair few more recruits now, since they won't be quite so put off by the pages of forum RP. The inRP interview and trial period will still let you assess how good they are, so you won't be rushed with people who are out of their depths.
Seems awfully similar to CR's (and likely other factions before) method though Jeremy:P
