the [LN] buys a Luxury liner, partakes in the battle for 2-3 minutes, make sure to screen the engagement of everyone then cloak away and hug FP 2

block their "docking point" and thus, making it harder for them.

A second option is that the LN puts pressure on the zoners, forcing them to close their gates for the rheinlenders in order to avoid loosing Bethlehem, Ames and Freeport 2 in "retaliation" strikes. A rather "dirty" way of fighting, but it may proove to be the only option.

A third option is to hold mock battles with the LNS in "secure" systems, such as virginnia. Practice on proper tactic usage, spend some time with the indies instead of just calling targets and acting like a boss when the [LN] shows up for the battle...

maybe i am twisted, but i would actually like to see more zones like texas all over the map. actual battlefields not just "make believe" battlefields following some script.

like rather than sitting in my starflier watching Valors kill Bretonian BS's, I'd like to pilot one or the other and kill actual players on the other side.

A little explanation about why these RNC/ex-2te guys behave as they do.

The [RM] made it happen. They encouraged this attitude, with actions such as this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKXWwLG2Wm8

That was april this year. The individual who led that group there, is a high command member of the [RM]. That behaviour was encouraged and brought about by the official faction. I received excuses for this... "The indies were out of control. Soru" *puppy-dog eyes*

That is not the only example of the same occuring. The [RM] repeatedly causing this to happen.

Now the [RM] are telling me this is not behaviour they support. Fine. That's fine... really. The problem is it was them who caused it to exist in the first place.

They will be incapable of dealing with it now. I believe it is a lost cause. they lost their ability to tell the indies not to behave in this way, the moment they started encouraging it. They then let it slip even further from their grasp when they ceased to be an active influence on the game.

The [RM] now are incapable of excersizing any legitimate control over the independants they have.

Being on the offensive in this game, is a lot easier than being the defending party. Far far easier. It gives you the luxury of being able to pick and choose your fights. You can choose to not attack a force which will better you, either through skill or through weight of numbers. If you have the requirement of defending space, as per roleplay, you often find yourself having to charge into deeply unfavourable odds, or being attacked by a force you stand no chance of beating.

Essentially the attacking force can just run around and kill off the defenders as they're gathering. The attacking force can see that they don't stand a hope in hell, so they can move elsewhere. the attacking force will always have the initiative.

I have discouraged the indies in Liberty from attacking rheinland with an uncounterable force. They liberty indies have attacked rheinland... but they have not been able to do so with absolutely absurd numbers, or with such ease, as a result of this.

Why did I discourage that? Well... Because I regard it as profoundly uncool to just walk over someone who doesn't stand any chance. A challenge is always more amusing for both sides of the game.

It's the same reason the rules prevent you shooting at underlevel civvy ID'd ships. Such kills are cheap. In the same way, I believe that stacking the odds against someone 8 - 1 is a cheap kill.

I believe that camping gates and killing lone ships as they pop through it, is cheap. I believe that dock-killing everything that undocks from a station, with 21 capital ships, is cheap.

I think that the players in question are directly damaging the experience of the game for other players. when this has been brought up with those players, they shrug, put it down to human nature, and carry on doing exactly what they did before, without a care in the world. That sort of uncaring attitude is exactly what has caused every last one of disco's major shitstorms. It's what makes people leave. It's what causes a downgrade in the game experience for everyone involved.

It's boring, tiring and mindblowingly repetative, to have barely literate, "idgaf"-fueled, ganksquads flying anywhere and doing anything.
