Well wasn't that a right little s**t-storm of oorp nonsence from a lot of people...
However, you should have just posted those four screenies in the reports forum and let everyone involved feel the weight of the laaaawwwwww.
Its not a good idea to post that on the forums, its only going to annoy and upset people. Why if people are failing so deliberately to play the game do you choose to give them higher profile?
Take him out. Idiots like this deserve to be banned from at least one thing. Most people do this kind of crap on games that have thousands of players so the admins could care less. Here, with our tiny 100 member community, I think we all want this moron gone.

OOC in system got NY pvp-locked for two days within recent memory. OOC is for PMs, and if you use it in system it should be absolutely necessary to defuse a bad situation, not because its convenient. Unmarked OOC is worse, but marking it doesn't make it good.

Factions (specially the official ones) should set the example. "//" marked chat in system should be kept to extremely essential and I can't think of many situations that would qualify as such. Even in a fight it's not so difficult to fly circles while you browse the name list and click a name.
This being an RP server, we should respect other people's immersion in the game and not just RP when we feel like it ourselves. "Out of character" in system chat is not "okay" just because you remembered to put a // in front of it. That is still "out of character" stuff broadcast to everyone, regardless if they're interested or not in it. It's a selfish thing not to restrain yourself from doing it, while disregarding and hindering other people's attempts to immerse themselves into the game.
I'm not letting it pass just because you're a Mandalorian. I've always PMed and criticized LSF and SA people for doing that which you did in that picture. This won't happen around me, not if I can avoid it.

The rules simply state....
Out-of-character (OOC) chat should not be used for system chat. Using out-of character in roleplaying chat should be marked with "OOC".
// is also known as OOC but it doesn't say it should only be used in extreme situations..it just states that if it IS used to mark it with OOC...Maybe I misunderstood this...but I don't see where your only allowed to use it in certain situations...

That doesn't make exception if you remember to tag it, it just says no. No ifs ands or buts about it, just no. It is generally considered pardonable, however, if absolutely necessary.

You're right. I don't see where you are allowed to use it at all. PM in OOC for clarification, that's about it.

I would like to ask a admin about that one..because the way I see it its saying its not to be used without marking it..not that its not to be used at all....in that case it should be banned altogether....

There's an interpretation problem there. That rule is a guideline that says you should not be using out of character in system chat, but if you do, you are supposed to mark it, either by ooc: or the adopted easier //. The fact is that even though there's that possibility, people shouldn't be around broadcasting what happened to their dogs yesterday and other things not related to the ambiance involved in the role play of the game.
Some things that are mistakenly taken as important enough to be broadcast:
Rule lawyering;
Player conversation;
Meta-game information;
Battle greeting between players.
The only one thing I consider relevant enough to be spoken in system chat if you can't go around saying it in private:

It doesn't have an exception clause, it just says no out of character chat. If marking something '//' makes it out of character chat, then don't use '//' in system. I'm fine with that, as are a lot of people.
