But what can the access be used for when the Outcasts can't dock anywhere anyways (all bret factions (maybe save for Bowex, can't remember) rephacked red or neutral no-dock last I checked) and can't pew anything save for Sairs and Gallics (both of which are being ganked plentily already) without getting into a lot of trouble? Bretonia is just a bland tourist destination for Outcasts - pretty sights and that's it, along with a supposed marginal income from less restrictive cardamine legislation.
Brets were fighting Kusari anyways, and are now fighting Gallia anyways. It's not like the OC-Bret relationship is going to change that; all it means is that the Outcasts will be the willing sacrificial lambs in the first line against the Corsairs and Gallics when no better allies are around for the Bretonians. They don't even allow OC caps in Leeds (where they allow approved Council and CR caps) because this alliance doesn't fit with the rest of the portfolio of allies Bretonia have. It will simply be in violation of ID rules if the Outcasts showed and wanted to join forces with the BAF/Council/CR/SCRA axis against the GRN, so they'd better stay out altogether.
In-RP this weird treaty do leave an image of great British Bretonian political negotiators and Italians Outcasts with politically clueless leadership, both of which fit well with those familiar National stereotypes the Freelancer universe hinges on, so from that perspective I guess it's all good. As an Outcast player who don't want to be confined by that narrative, I would like to see Bretonia make "real" concessions or that the Outcasts annul this absolutely worthless treaty and kiss and make up with the Mollies. A strong Outcast-Molly-LR holy trinity of Doom would be amazing and so much more "natural" IMO.
Whilst I have no objections with OCs becoming hostile to Bretonia, and more friendly to Mollys again, INRP this treaty is better for them then Bretonia. They are not red to Bretonian stuff, and they can come in and spread cardamine much more easily. And They get Bretonias help against Gallia.

However BAF still isnt allowed into Omicron alpha, and its not like theres many lawful trade routes going there are there? The only thing I heard about was some bowex relief convoys.
OORP I can see how it could reduce OC activity, as its one less place to fight, but they can still do subtle piracy there as long as they dont get caught.

Hone, as far as I know there is still a -0.7 rephack for Outcasts on most Bretonian stuff, with Bowex and BMM at -0.55
In the last thread where this treaty was discussed, this was brought up but nothing done about it.
The deal would make a lot more sense if Outcasts were able to trade with Bretonia but until the rephacks are actually changed, Bretonia effectively gets itself a fairly strong ally against Gallia with only a bit of confusion for the new BPA recruits (and some not-so-new) and a bit of extra conditions for the Colonials.
Also, Outcasts can have their capital ships in Newcastle (basing from Cape Wrath), and bring them in to Leeds to fight invading Gallic forces.

Actually Mollys don't really give a damn about Cardamine or the OC use of slaves. The Dev Gods chose to have Garvagh purchase slaves, so Mollys have role played it as freeing slaves to become Mollys. While the OC use of slaves might be distasteful, it doesn't really hamper their relations. Think on historically that Britain found the US use of slaves distasteful yet still did business with the US up to the civil war.
The Molly/OC relationship dates back to vanilla, same is the Molly/LH relationship and Molly/LR relationship.
Granted, a previous Molly official faction (can't remember if it was the MR or MC) pushed for a downturn in relations but as of the current Molly official faction, the relations have been good for the past year and more. Outcasts have access to the Coin and Londonderry and I've worked to encourage the use of the smuggling routes through Molly space with the previous OC leader as well as the XTF.
Apparently neither the Bretonian government nor themollies have enough problems ore foresight with the issue that the Outcasts are probably spreading their cardamine like mad(even in smalles qauntities) and losing the control of their subjects and their sovereignty.
This might be because no one wants to think on the ugly side of drugs or any actulay"statemanship" in a space opera...oh well....
Whiskey is the drug of choice for Mollys, so cardi isn't an issue among us o' the green. Perhaps cardamine doesn't function in a bloodstream of an excessive alcohol content.
