Despite previous friendly relations, the Corsair Empire and Colonial Republic have since been at some odds with each other with the changing face of Sirius. However, sometimes we forget there are many Corsairs who do not wish to fight and raid, such as yourself. The qualities you have seen and shared are core to we Colonials, you have made the right choice in coming to Coronado.
If your business partners require work, the Movers may also be able to provide it.
Your application has been preliminarily accepted. Once a room is made available, you will be tested and interviewed, and hopefully deemed suitable for our Military.
John Hopkins got out of the shuttle.
A Military official instructed the recruits to get a number each from a number-dispensing machine, waiting at the queue.
"Now serving, number 45", the loudspeaker sounded.
John glanced at his number again, and was frustrated as he once again confirmed it was no.194.
*It will be a while here, he thought.*
Whilst examining his surroundings, a few fellas laughing around some crates come to his attention.
As he walks there, he is greeted by a man who tells him that this is a part of the Colonial Movers.
Seeing as he never the most proficient fighter, right there and then, John thought:
"Perhaps I should join them instead."

A Colonial-born Bretonian eh? Well I'm a Bretonian-born Colonial, so I guess that balances out nicely. Even if I was in space for most of my life...
Anyway, we'll get you in an Atlas and outrunning the Gauls and sniffers in no time. Lots to Move, lots of places to bring it to. Us 'old-hands' at it can keep an eye out for you (I'll be in the Bewildered Scout), and of course there are the Military fly-boys if we really need it.

Born shortly before her familys departure to Sirius from Crayter, Michelle grew up along the many Colonials in this new surrounding. Her Parents were scientists, so they were often at work during her childhood. She attended basic education institutions, and taught her self piloting on the side with a friend of hers. She often watched the passing Republic Fighters and their pilots when she wandered through town, and she'd always wanted to fly like them herself, so when she found the recruiting poster she decided to take her chance. After talking to her parents, Michelle finally worked up the guts and went to enlist.
Relevant Experience:
Basic Piloting Experience, Self-taught Tactics and maneuvers. Knowledge of Basic Warfare.

I want to join the devoted and hard fighting men and women of the Republic's Military and do my part.

Being a soldier is not the same as an escort pilot, nor a business owner. You will face a tough time ahead if you do fly as a Colonial, but your military training should serve you well.
Your application has been preliminarily accepted. Your interview and testing will begin shortly.
Michelle Lee,
Even being self-taught, your initial flight tests were very impressive. Talent like that is a valuable skill in a raw recruit, but you will still need to quickly get used to the pressures of fighting a war on many sides.
You are accepted into the Military as a Warrant Officer. I am sure you will not disappoint, and live up the the Crayterian standard. So say we all.
Planet Pecos, New Hope Recruitment Office, 819 AS.
It had been a quiet morning for this recruitment office. In fact, before now, there had not been a single applicant, and we the audience are pretty sure we saw one of the Mover freight drivers playing Galaga on a mobile device (just to pass the time, you understand). Suddenly the door is thrown wide open and a jaunty young man wearing a suit practically bounds inside, stops for a moment, and then makes a beeline for the military recruitment desk. Utilizing a straight-backed stiff walk that can only be described as ridiculous, he draws himself up and, with a big grin, says:
"Je voudrais rejoindre votre base pilote, s'il vous plaît!"
A split second passes, and he covers his mouth with both hands."Eheheh...excusez-moi!" He takes a moment to clear his throat. "Ahem...my name is Emeric Leon, and I am here to sign up for your fighter squadron!" A bemused looking recruitment officer hands him the form. Still barely in control of his delight, he takes the pad to a nearby seat and begins scribbling on it as fast as he can.
Name: Emeric U. Leon Age: 19 Birthplace: Planet Quillan, Languedoc Biography: Born a son of miners in what for a Border World colony would be considered a long line of miners, I grew up under the boot-heel of the Royalists much like any other Gallic underclass citizen. After the Council took from and then lost Quillan to the Crown, the citizens there were oppressed far worse than any thing we'd seen previously. Public executions, a hanging or two, raids...all of these things were a part of daily life for us. So, when chance came, my family packed what we could and used our Aurochs freighter to get us to Vichy Base. The Council, before they cleared out, had left coordinates and system locations for this base, since the Royals couldn't reach it and it was to be a staging point for any trying to escape Gallic space. We boarded a pirate transport there and were among a few thousand people who successfully made it to Planet Toulouse, and into a refugee camp. Life in those camps is hard, almost as hard as Quillan was but in a different way. I wanted out, but had no interest in joining the Council. So, instead, I secured passage...okay, stowed away, on a shuttle bound for Barrier Gate, then took the Colonial shuttle out here, to New Hope. Relevant Experience: I was hoping you could provide the combat action part, but like most people in this age I know my way around a cockpit, and the gun systems. Your reasons for applying to the Military: See above. I wish to punish the Royals for what they've done to us, and don't want to do it in an arms production facility on Toulouse somewhere.
// OORP:
1) How long have you been on Discovery?Since mid-2011.
2) What characters and ships have you had thus far?Quite a few - official LPI, BHG, miner, Outcast, Red Hessian, Council. Other various and sundry transports. I've almost always been a cruiser driver and now am looking to improve fighter skills.
3) How often do you normally play/come online for?I work a lot in the evenings, but am generally on afterwards till the early morning, EST. Usually this is anywhere from 9-11 PM till I fall asleep.
Punctuating the final period on the page with a sharp tap of the pen, Emeric practically leaps out of his chair, straightens his suit imperiously, and strides over to the desk with the completed form.
"I believe you will find everything is cent pour cent in order," he exclaims.
The recruitment officer gives his application a once over, sets it aside, and waves him out of the building, eager to be rid of this happy Frenchman and to go back to his quiet day. Meanwhile, trembling with glee, Emeric had already strode out of the office to await a reply and hopefully orders back in a lodging in the New Hope colony proper.
As soon as the door was completely shut against the cold, the recruitment officer sighs, permits himself a small "Ay carumba..." and goes back to being bored, at least until the next recruit comes in.
From what our... allies in the Council have told us, civilian life in the Gallic Borderworlds was dangerous during that stage of the war. The people of Quillan were instrumental in the victory there, a sign of an end of the Royals' tyranny at some point in the future.
Your application has been preliminarily accepted. If your interview is successful, we can build on your basic experience.
The free people of Gallia may be your own "those we left behind" to fight for.
It was a cold day on Pecos, like they always were. With frosty winds blowing snow across the landing pads, and a cloudy sky dimming the light, coming from Coronado's sun. Now Elaine remembered why she never visited Pecos since the Colonial Republic came here. This place just had nothing what would make her call it 'home'. "Let's be honest, Tau 44 wasn't better...", she admitted, mumbling to herself. The wind made it necessary to remove a strand of short, red hair from her face, as she looked around the area of the reporting facility. From boastful nuggets over annoyed flight instructors to bored recruitment officers. Everything could be found, and she was only at the place where all the shuttles land. Slightly smiling, Elaine shook her head, watching a recruit - who was obviously to young to enlist for the military - argued with one of the enlistment guys. She had to remember the day when her brother tried to do the same, back in the 'old times'. The woman quietly laughed. That was a chaos, when he returned home that day! Mom and Dad shouted something about 'have you just gone nuts?!, Sam just looked like he would kill somebody very soon, and Elaine couldn't help but laugh how she never had laughed before.
Lifting her head, still smiling, she also remembered how she went down another path. How much things she had seen, how much good she had done. And how she had ended all this suddenly. Looking around once more, Elaine finally finds what she searched for, why she actually came her. Not to become one of those rocket jockeys, though all of them are doing a good job. No, she recognizes some men, taking a break near some smaller crates, containing whatever these guys will bring to the stars after finishing their little talk. Like the colonial military pilots, these men were heroes, just acting behind the stage. And like Elaine was one before, she would possibly find her way back to the Colonial movers today.
"Hey there". With a nod she greets the guys. Lighting a cigarette, she continues. "So, you are part the elitary league of the colonial transport and logistics pilots, hm? Great. If you don't have anything else to do...obviously that's the case right now...I'd like to talk a bit to you..."
What do we call you?
Elaine Maxwell
How old are you?

Where you from?
Crayter Sector
Tell us about yourself.
Born back in the times when the Colonials lived in the Crayter sector, Elaine and her family had to leave their home when the girl was really young. As soon as she was old enough, she enlisted for the Colonial Movers as she always was impressed by the people who managed to save her people, and also because she liked the kind of family the society of colonial transport pilots always provided. Though, with the age of 24, she quit her job due to personal issues. In the following years Elaine travelled through Sirius, trying to find a new profession. But she never could forget about the thought of betraying her Nation. And so she reapplied for the Colonial Movers.
Why do you want to be a Mover?
Because not only skilled fighter pilots, but also brave captains who deliver their ammunition are needed.
