annd the constant movement of both bodies would rip it apart. annnd since there's no tech that exists that allows for a big enough, strong enough cable, the energy required to lift the puppy car out of gravities pull would generate MASSIVE heat...annnd there's the weight issue, the sinking problem, the flooding. ect.
it'd make more sense to build it in space at geosynchronous points, but an elevator in space isn't really lifting anything...it's just travelling in tubes at that point
And those giant squids they're able to view now at the bottom of the oceans. Kind of makes you think if those old pirates of yore knew a thing or two... or three.
