You er shouldn't. I'm not to familiar with the Arrastra turret placement, but perhaps it is better for double/multiple hits? I find Hegemon to b beast though.
Also giving Helium for free? Well that sure is generous, some might abuse if they find out. In my opinion, although the credits is useful for newbies, I think that good RP is more valuable to em. your already doing them a good service, if you (which you may be doing already) manage to incorporate some good RP into it, it could really help develop new players skills.
This used to be common several years ago, before the mining system was updated. I guess its kind of sad that very few people do it now. I mean I extended SFC's light and heavy patrols in Penny to include the Helium field at the times I noticed Johny on just because I knew he'd be doing this, and its certainly useful to new players, if only for the quick cash boost, but also the ability to chat to older players (either IRP or OORP'ly) and get some help.
Glad to hear you guys!. Well... im trying to help not only with the helium field, also im attempting to teach that newbies how we play here, the RolePlaying acts hehehe.
I Try to explain them the basics diferences between singleplayer/other servers, but of course always trying to keep them RPing, im putting effort using PM's to explain them about using RPing chat style in local chat, just to show them how it works, but I hope you understand its not so easy when some newbies join at same time hehehe, because this, i want to say Sorry if a veteran join Pennsy and read me sometimes mixing... its not my intention, its only to try to separate the chats between diferent players asking me things.
I will try from now to avoid it hehe, one more time sorry and i hope you understand it. Not easy to explain to several players at same time using PM's hehehe.
One more time, everybody is welcome to pick up my mined Helium!
Tbh, if you wanna have some thing like that, Have them do a EVE move, and take the storage things (those small storage things you see sometimes around a station, and have those able to drop by a player (If they have purchased one) Having it able to sit their for a day, maybe a couple hours. As well as having it possible locked by either a code, or a buy system incorporated into it.
Dropping a can and filling it up has to have limits aswell, so. if my idea isnt suitable, hopefully johnys is. I would like to see it as it would help miners out.
For example, I am a trader, i buy ore, sell it for a profit. BUT the miners i go through have the waiting time of me traveling to the place, and back. But their cargo hold isnt big enough to fill me right back up by the time i get back. So, paying for a couple fills ahead means they can fill up a can with the amount of ore i need for what i paid for and be on the way.
So, Ideas for the can drop would be:
Purchased from:
*Stations
*Planets
*Ships
Timer of Protection:
*Meaning not destructible during the time that is paid.
*Which would be purchased when it is placed in space.
*If not paid, it would go back into the cargo hold.
*Maybe it could be a slot on the miner ships to be dropped like a Counter measure.
Followed by, these cargo cans for faction use only
*Meaning only sold to faction members of official player factions, which are bought on stations/planets the faction has made the place to be sold
*These would also be set to open only to the faction members.
*Time limits are the same.

I've seen this guy mining in the Helium fields while I was in my Barghest, never pirated him, he gives Helium away for free to new players, anyone who pirates him is just a complete *word removed, too offensive*.
Not only that, but they're not going to make much money, if any at all, the likely outcome is that he just logs out aftter he's been killed and plays one of his other chars, then new players don't get the free H.
