Hmm Point taken, I dunno, id have to see it in game and compare it to the sizes of the other ships, and of course its class is dependant on number of hardpoints, weapon class and such. It may have started as the LF, but IMHO I think with the addtion of the underside wing, and the fins it just has the look of a VHF or SHF.

It looks great.
And about the class... The Templar is already heavy enough, no need to go even heavier with this ship. Something between the Hussar and Templar is what we need.

you ll texture it and convert it to a cmp / mat - then you ll test fly it after you added hardpoints to it and wrote up an .ini file.

here is a little additional thing about the model.

maybe you can try a variant where you remove the "beard" of the ship. - the cavalier has this front shield as its needed to give the ship a look that is more than that of a sperm. - your ship has enough verticals not to need that design element. ( from the side it looks a bit strange )

think of it like the BHG ships and what the BHG bomber looks like. - the BHG ships are very vertical below the cockpit, too - but the bomber is not. - so you might want to try to remove it and try to make it a sphere like bottom below the cockpit. ( or add a forked intake for the little component below the cockpit )

furthermore, you might stretch the tail a little - not the fin - just the little bit between the forked tail and the wings. ( not by much - maybe half a centimeter on your pictures ) - add one more intake on the roof so it doesn t look too plain.

the whole ship follows the idea of the destroyer with its large module below the body.

imo, a logical loadout could be:
3x lvl9 weapons ( 2 on the sides of the body, one on the console bottom wing )
2x lvl3 turrets ( on the sides of the vertical wings )

class HF

the whole design does not suggest an agile fighter. a fighter with superior firepower for its size. - since it uses the chavalier chassis, it would be quite a small heavy fighter ( like the blood dragon ) - so it might have slipstream turn and strafe rates and a large powercore to set it apart from other fighters of that class.

another option is - since it offers a lot of space for weapons to give it a starflier powercore and a chavalier agility ( you say WHAT?!? ) - but you can add a load of lvl10 hardpoints to it. - like :

- 2 on the bottom wing
- 1 on each side of the vertical wings
- 4 on the body

the tiny powercore will make it impossible to fire any weapon other than lvl 1 - 3 guns. but it will be able to mount paralyzers and other high end missiles. - since bretonia has trouble with the agile kusari ships... it might be meant as a counterattack ship bringing homing ordinance into the battle. - a ship with the agility of a slipstream but 7 high level missile modules might be well used against those kusari ships - but highly limited when it comes to resupply ( so rather an interceptor )

Ok, long storie short, no, i can't do it....

It just messes up, so I'm leaving it as it is. I'm going to have a go at texturing it now. Wish me luck!

I was just looking over the picture again, and I noticed the waythe top fin just goes into the hull, I reckon it'd look cool if it melted into the hull, a bit like:

As for jinx's weaponry suggestions....uhm...I'd argue that it cannot be designed purely as an anti KNF platform, because there are plenty of other enemies of the state, and I would also say that that there are only four missiles in use by high profile ships, the cannonball, the paralyzer, the sidewinder and the firestalker. A missile boat ship is going to be extremely vulnerable, as well as extremely expensive...I've cannonballs and paralyzers, and it costs me about 400k to rearm. It also renders the ship highly dependent on a strong connection.

I'd suggest a standard loadout, with agility of a rather slow HF, or a quick VHF, and armour of the same, as all Bretonian ships are near the heaviest in their classes (except for the BS).
Around 1000 armour,
A class 9 shield
3 class 5 turrets
2 class 8 guns,
(alternately, 3 guns and 2 turrets, or 4 guns and one turret)
A cd/torp slot on the top, as follows Bret designs for heavy guns...bot the GB and temp have their torpedo/gun slots on the top.


I have in mind a use of the class 5 turrets because as yet, there is absolutely no bretonian ship that can use the bretonian turrets, which is a shame.

Well i would not mind the idea of it being more designed to use in the police force as a HF rather than the police forces being stuck with mk II LF's only

10.000 Armour

1 class 8

4 class 9

CM,Mine, CD/T

So the Polices backup for when the Hussar cant take on the enemy, saves them from calling in the armed forces every 5 minutes to deal with caps, as this would be able to have a fair go at taking someone out.
