Problem is that to set up a base is 100% OORP

Key ingredience are only sold in Rheinland for one and another in Gallia.

Atleast set 2 more selling points for those items so that base building are not OORP.

To me it seems oddley strange that for a RP server that base builders have to do OORP trading to get those items

I am not a native English Speaker, so i make grammar errors.
But it annoys me when people make silly comments about that... especially brits who for the most part can't speak their own language let alone anyone elses!

Depends on the group doing the pirating. As a Gateway player...if I catch a Bowex transport in Omega-3 transporting Robotics/FAW/MOX that I know are intended for their base....I may be in a situation to charge MORE because I know those supplies are vital to the survival of their base, and thus more important. You have to be creative and understand WHY the trader is hauling what he's hauling. Then you are in a better position to understand what he's willing to pay to protect his cargo.

I would disagree. Smugglers/Freelancers could be used to obtain materials for a group that would otherwise not have them easily or readily available. I don't see that as OORP. Or....if you want to be able to buy Cryocubes somewhere in Sirius...then they should probably be very expensive to reflect the RP fact that they are an advanced technology normally manufactured and found in Gallia.

I agree with the "high prices far from primary manufacturing area" idea for construction materials, but not the upkeep commodities. So the time is money theory would be in effect: You want to get the commodity cheap? You have to travel through half of Sirius. You want to get it fast? Prices are high.

Both these aren't issues with the development side. Remote bases take longer to supply. Smaller groups of players will have a harder time to supply a base.

What about House-located bases that were intentionally put, say, in front of Robotics selling point, with sort of an industrial hub 1 vertical trade lane from them, that sells BA and alot of other stuff, but robotics selling point got deleted, vertical trade lane got deleted cause devs didn't like the way it worked, the planet that was an industrial hub doesn't sell required goods anymore, jumpgate network in same system got changed (read: few JGs got deleted\moved) and now their supplies are located quite far away.

It was a production facility built in the House industrial hub, not a "remote base'... in such case, will there be a possibility to move bases not only within same system, but within same House? (with the consent of House leadership, ofc)

Heat Sinks which are going to replace Cryocubes as a required Base Commodity is now available in 4 places:

Planet Mayenne - for Gallic Lawfuls, Kusarians etc.
Evron Base - for Gallic Unlawfuls
Planet New London - for Bretonians, Libertonians, Rheinlanders etc.
Trafalgar Base - for those Unlawfuls who are Neutral to Friendly with Junkers.

This increases the access to this commodities no end and reduces the need for some of the ooRP activities required to get them.

Yes there are some Commodities that are even harder to get and will require 3rd parties to get them. Silver's replacement as a Building Commodity, which was once sold all over the place, is now only sold in 2 places and both of them in Rheinland. As a Gallic Base Builder it will be interesting, for me, to have to get these materials from halfway across Sirius.

With a bit of thought everything can be over come. If a Liberty Base requires Commodities that are only in Rheinland then I am sure it could contact Bowex, who regularly visit Rhienland, to supply the required items. This would stop the ooRP supplying of Bases.

You will never stop people doing ooRP things but I am sure those that want to play within the 'spirit' of the game can overcome the difficulties posed by this change in Commodities spread.

@Ponge - well, with the example you gave, yes that would seem OORP. I'm just rejecting the premise that all base building is 100% OORP.

I don't really know how was the jumping system changed, but jumping large cargo ships are quite fuel comsuming now, isn't it? Was any changes regarding jumping implemented yet?

St.Denis: bringing goods into Liberty those are clearly from Rheinland origin still counts as blockade running, am I right (no, I'm not, but still)? It does not matter whether you haul it through Bretonia or not, LN will pop you for "supporting Rheinland" (as it happened to me quite a few times when I was hauling Nuclear Devices back in 4.86, into Liberty through Bretonia). Or they were just trolls.

Still, this arises a few questions: how can the not very lawful factions get these goods? I mean Corsairs, Outcasts, Order. Yes, Freelancers can supply them, but what about Xenos? They don't really like freelancers, and inRP they would never buy a commodity from an other House. For example, they can get it only in an ooRP way (as of yet).
