they can fire BS weapons which you were talking about yourself. :unsure: If they can shoot BS weaps then get loads of them I dont see why gunboats should get their own inferno cannon / turret.

Is it just me, or is the only time anyone else will fight us (The Phantoms) is when they have superior numbers? Like 2:1 ratio for them. I suppose it's a monument to how good we are.

Well, i dont know why people are affraid of phantoms at such a point that they wont fight unless superior numbers of their part.
Maybe bacause they are allways grouped in packs of 3-4 ships?
I know what happens here. Profile got bored and now he is on a killing frenzy just to have some fun. Now, to avoid having to fight 2 vs all the server, he picks the phantoms thinking nobody is going to defend them from his group.
Well, good luck. Phantoms are not n00bs. They are quite good.
And about the forward guns; let them. After all, "everything not explicitly forbidden is implicitly allowed", even if it is dishonorable. But just because it is not forbidden does not means that it is right.
They will get quite a few enemies by doing that and, have their a**es kicked if they manage to annoy us all. by doing this, they are showing their childish nature. So the only ones perjudicated here are them.
In resume: You want to go and broke rules and play jerkishly. Go ahead, do it. But dont complain when everybody turns against you (let alone annoy admins and moderators too).

like i said before...it is ironic how u all talk about guns and turrets beeing for specific ship type and then say something like this:

if u are making rules then make it for all kind of weps...there is no matter if u put salamanca on BS, or Fwd gun on BS, or corsair BS turret on gunboat...basicly it all the same thing...mounting on weps that isnt designed for that ship...
Well unless your gonna suggest something that might help solve this problem why keep bringing it up?
I'm pretty sure that it's mainly because you can buy/loot better weapons for your ship and then mount them. Which is probably part of the code for the game, which probably means can't alter it.
So I can't think of a way to stop fighter weapons getting mounted on cap-ships that won't cause complaints from people who like to find a weapon set-up thats right for that particular ship.
Because the only way I can think of to stop it would be to lock the turrets onto the ship. I'd rather have someone use a few fighter turrets then be unable to fit the turrets I'd like onto my cap-ship.
The only fighter turrets that do similar or better damages then cap-ship turrets are mostly class 9, so you need to be loved by the faction (which owns the base they're sold) on to buy them.
The only turrets I can think of that are better then cap-ship turrets are the class 9 rhienland plasma and the skyblast B, though the corsair BS turret (not the light one) does more damage then the skyblast B.
One possible solution could be making the weakest cap-ship turret do more damage then the best codename. Then you'll find everyone will be using cap-ships and the fighters wont get used.
So however it gets solved they'll still be people who aren't happy.
Ok, first off this is Off Topic, but hey whats new.
Second, Inferno Cannons, and Battle Razors, standard mortar and heavy mortars Are for Cruisers and Battleships only, Hench the reason they take so much energy blah blah blah.
Now, Really theres no point to haveing a custom made inferno cannon for gunsboats, why?
First, Gunboats arn't supposed to slug it out with with a Battleship one on one, its just not smart, If you start increasing stats for gunboats, increased Armour, increased hull, INferno cannons, battle Razors, you'll turn a Gunboat into a Mini-Battleship, and im sorry but thats just retarded.
Second, Gunboats are supposed to work in teams, an excellent example, was yesterday Darkstar Ambushed a pair of gunboats that had fighter support in his battlestar, now this is a BATTLESHIP vrs a pair of gunboats, and Dark died in under 15 seconds. Ask Kane it was not a pretty sight, but it was REALLY funny....... :laugh:
Third is, well gunboats are meant to deal with Fighters, plain and simple, there the Picket ships of fleets.
So if you want to deal with big bad Battleships, just team up and you'll win its that simple.

Yes, people aren't going to complain about using BS weaps on gunboats because they require tons of energy and are balanced between energy consumption and damage with the cruiser and gunboat turrets. But the gunboat forward guns. If they have highered energy so will the gunboats, making them able to fire off mortars, battlrazors, infernos, anything, Making the damage low enough that the battleship won't want it will defeat the purpose of the weapon. Face it the FWD gun was meant for gunboats only to keep things balanced. Either we make battleships over powered or gunboats under powered or tell people not to use that gun on other ships. I think most people will want the third option. Why unbalance everything in favor of one ship than keep things in a quite well balanced version now.
