Server cancer has never been bases or mining or capspam or pvp. Server cancer was and will always be people who think they need to tell other players how to play because they think they know better.

That's an idea for players like myself who have effectively ended running a base alone (no I didn't build it alone).
Annoying and frustrating? Well the game gets like that anyways, and everyone has their own 'thing' so some people do enjoy that part of the PoB process.
The thing I like about PoB's is that they will bring a guaranteed amount of population. People will be back to working on them, RPing around them, and yes, probably fighting over them. Why not? Its epic, I think the base idea is one of the best i've seen for an mmo like this. Not that many games have this level of interaction.
Everyone who's like ' just go rp' i totally understand that, but its also cool to know that your shipping is for a purpose, a goal to work towards, it raises the stakes, and really lets you feel like you're working on a serious 'project'.
It's also true that I have noticed a lot of shipping companies that are underused, even back before the bases went down. Start paying them to do a lot of that work people! Gives them something to do, gets more people online, involved, and takes the heat off people thinking they have stress out over supplying it all the time. If so many people seem to have the cash saved for a CAU8 or cloaks, that's more than enough to contract out a base's construction and provisioning for quite a while.
Don't you just love players. Player bases coming back, ready to spank hostile players coming into their system. It's happy families all over. Devs introduce more powerful weapons on jump gates national out cry. Double standards or what. Developers please give these guys a taste of their own medicine and put a 15k exclusion zone for player bases around jump holes/gates. Then we'll see how well they can defend their home systems.
Never seen a PoB so that should be interesting, sounds like a good chance to make allot of credits supplying them as well (though from the sounds of it, I don't think I ever want to own one)
