I dont know if that is possible, though im not a modder. It seemes like something that would be hard coded into the game. As ro the solution, missile spamzorz. just need to get the crosshairs in the general area

2. Fighters and bombers have this nifty ability to dodge 90% of fire thrown at them, while capships - for the most part - cannot dodge at all.

Trust me, it's much worse for capships than it is for fighters.

Just typical. Glad my order for a BHG gunship is on hold...

In RP, shields are needed for various reasons. Smugglers need it. You cannot expose your hull to the numerous dust particles in space. Of course the ship shakes a lot and would be difficult to concentrate. To make the game more interesting, ships with higher armor have to be made, like present fighters will have to have the armor of that of a gunboat, and hull of cap ships should be tripled. Of course, NPC capships and transports do not have shields, that is another problem!

And, we don't have the Freelancer source code yet, to modify the game that much, so we will have to wait and see if it is possible.

But yes, RP wise it wouldnt work, but game mechanics wise it would.

What would be the RP for the people of Surius suddenly not useing shields? THats going backwards not forwards. If anything give NPC capital ships shields too.

Increase capital ship regen, there no reason for fighters/bombers/gunboats out regening criusers and battleships.

After all dont we dock our other ships on too battleships for repairs? How would a smaller craft have more regen that a capital ship with a damage control crew? So, if any changes were made I'd say either nerf fighter regen(not good for new players) or increase criuser and battleship regens to like 2 or 3 regens per shield and hull.

This is true, right now i could take my corsair GB and go whail on Bretonia BB's and not have a single problem. Make the admirals and captains worth more, but make them alot harder to get.
