to be fair I hope that everyone knows that these engagement rules aren't increasing the quality of roleplay

they're kind of a necessary evil in that they help to notify someone they're about to be shot at, but just because someone through a setmsg at you doesn't mean that they've crafted an intricate part of a story

but the rule is very arbitrary, as 'Engaging junker' and 'Haha, junker, you've fallen into my trap! Prepare to suffer my wrath!' is actually just the same thing except the other person managed to care about not being sanctioned long enough to fall on their keyboard for more than a second

i am a specialist in short engaging! if i speak to much, my ennemy have achance more, i prefer the fast attack like prepare to die ennemy! Wink

i think that only the ID/iff is sufficient!

in kusari it's not the same thing, they allow the pirates to leave!

I agree with this 100%. It seems there's an increasing amount of people that do not see PvP as part of RP. Instead they see the RP only as a sort of background story with the PvP being the centre of things, some I think even see RP as an obstacle. That attitude is not wrong in itself, it's just not the attitude this server is for. This is an RP server, RP is the focus. There's relaxed RP and non-RP servers out there too if that doesn't suit you. The fact we even need rules to prevent people, not just newcomers and the like but long-time players too, from engaging all hostiles they can see is quite depressing.

There's nothing wrong with PvPing but there's something wrong if you feel like it hinders your gameplay if you need to RP on an RP server.
