Our airspace in the Kyushu system has been the stage for several strange events regarding another stellar phenomenon related to the nomads. Similar to the temporary passages reported and studied in the operation Kumo no ami, these jumphole like stellar objects appeared within our space without much of a warning, and allowed nomad entities to make incursions in highly visible and patrolled sectors.
Contrary to the previous encounters however, the jumphole had different characteristics, and we found our equipment and vessels to be unable to pass through like in previous cases. Strangely, there are reports that human vessels aligned with the nomads (rheinlandic, kusarian and others), as well as vessels of the Core and Order, were found to be passing through the anomaly without issues. Agents on the field indicate a extremely high difficulty to calibrate navigation systems with the passage as the main reason...
The repeated incursions of the nomads in Kusari space have brought the attention of the Gallic forces, who had until now been blissfully removed from the nomadic affairs within our shpere of influence. Their rules of engagement combined with a lack of experience in joint operations have led to a series of incidents, namely the assault of GRN forces upon KNF assets. It is unlikely to say for sure if there is any right in this sequence of wrongs, but I shall not delve too depply on that.
More recently, after a long skirmish with several waves of Nomad forces alongside KNF and GRN, the passage seems to have collapsed, or closed on purpose by its creators. Is to remain vigilant of any further movements or anomalies related to the nomad presence, but this and other recent encounters reveal that the division is sorely lacking in material and capability to mount a suitable counter to the nomad threat.
Agent Karasu.no.Kage here. In the past few hours we have accompanied a KNF taskforce that was pursuing what reports indicate as an imperial incursion deep into Republic space. Flying off in a interceptor/scout role, we had first confirmation of the enemy group running through less traveled routes between Honshu and New Tokyo. The enemy is well acquainted with the lay of the space in New Tokyo, and soon were reaching imperial lines. KNF had assembled a cruiser KDS-Ise and destroyer Final.Breath as a quick response team, as the enemy was fielding several destroyer class vessels.
The enemy managed to regroup near Planet Kyushu, and the Naval Forces decided to push for an engagement in that position. Charging into the controlled area, the KDS-Ise and the Final.Breath engaged enemy destroyers IKN-Akagi and IKN-Kaga, as well as an escort boat IKN-Otori, and some fighter escort.
Both sides shown some well developed tactics, but the superior numbers of the imperials granted them the advantage, and the KDS-Ise was the first to be forced to withdraw from the battle. The Last.Breath managed to neutralize the Akagi before being forced to disengage.
The Imperial forces are showing some reorganization after many months of slow advance, and are currently able to operate medium sized groups in raiding and patrol operations. KNF is advised to prepare it's units to respond to the increased threat.
Agent Karasu.no.Kage here. In the past weeks there has been an increase of Blood Dragon space bound operations in the Nagano system. It appears a rather active clique within the dragons has decided to take a more aggressive approach against the civilians in the system, resorting to hostile assaults on transports and installations. Initial reports by KNF suggest some sort of attack on the economical sector, so as to decrease productivity and interest in Nagano.
Today attacks have escalated, as the Dragons have been threatening Samura installations with bombardment. Reports of Xuanming being harassed were confirmed with the visual of several Dragon vessels taking shots at the installation. I could confirm the activity of at least one Togo class and two cruiser class vessels, most likely of the Kagutsuchi class.
In addition the raiding party, which was covered by a pilot in a Tachi and several scouts, there was a foreign transponder in a dragon made fighter. Signature and markings coincide with Order activity, but the designation ORG| is not linked to past encounters. This Order agent was acting in an observer role to the situation.
As all intel was retrieved, we received word that the KNF was mobilizing from the near Matsumoto taskforce, and the deployment of capital ships meant that an engagement was to soon follow. KNI agents abandoned the field before the fight started, and returned to secure installations after briefing the KNF forces about the enemy.
Word came later that the KNF managed to repel the opposition with few losses.
The KNI mission is to remain vigilant of outside threats and warn the Naval Forces and the Republican Government of danger that foreign organizations and states might pose. Together with the Tokkeitai internal affairs division, and the Anti-nomad special units of the 66th Taskforce and others, we make up the bulk of the Republic intelligence efforts.
It is regrettable to say that currently the KNI is failing in it's goals, by being beaten by the efforts of the 66th and regular patrols.
Several hours ago agents from the 66th have reported findings of Bretonian Intelligence activities near the borders of Kusari, in Tau space. Not only this means that the Bretonians are managing to pass through the Gallic lines and control points in the Taus, but they are also close to enter Kusari.
Iie, it's unwise to assume they haven't entered already.
Little is known of the past support that the Bretonian government has provided to the derelict Naval Forces who where among the imperial campaign in Seto, but there is a risk that they have provided crucial intel on Kyushu situation tot eh Imperial advantage, and are trying to increase their activities with the Kusarian collaborators.
Furthermore, the same report speaks of unpredictable movement of criminals of the Dragons in the Tau region, as well as fringe organizations from Gallia, all in the same period.
Ladies and Gentlemen, it's not the role of the KNI to speculate on what this may mean to Kusari. It's our Duty to know. And I want to see more knowledge acquired in our own reports.
The KNI is to reorganize its investigation teams and redouble our efforts in the flashpoints around Kusari. The Kusari State Police may handle a smuggling ring or a cardamine network by the GC, but it starts to get too many blind spots if foreign criminals or even lawful agencies start operating in our home sectors.
Additionally, there is a need for new commitment to gather intelligence from outside sources, before our opponents start getting on their plans already within our territory. I'm authorizing special agents to procure new contacts and supporters for our network.
