Beck here, from the bridge of the transport vessel Large Caliber. Couple of quick things to report.
First off, I worked with the foreman onboard Gunpowder Falls to get his crew everything they need to finish the storage expansion. Only a matter of time now, he tells me.
Secondly, I ran into an interesting character while I was on the way back with some hull panels. A freighter goin' by the callsign "The Wellerman." Said he does contract work for Planetform now, but that he used to serve with the Bretonia Armed Forces. The Wellerman had some experimental MELES turrets mounted to it; my scanners couldn't find any detailed info on 'em. Captain claimed they were some Bowex prototype, and that they were a parting gift from the Armed Forces. Anyway, he sure seemed glad to run into me, 'cause he was lookin' to see if Detroit Munitions was capable of replicating the design and producing one more for a hardpoint they just freed up.
Now I ain't terribly versed in what to do in such a situation, but the company does alright by me so I figured I'd try to help generate some business if I could. He said he wasn't willin' to part ways with any of the existing turrets, but that he could provide detailed scans to whoever could make sense of 'em. It was all over my head, but I looked around for a corporate contact book and suggested he reach out to the office askin' for Apsis Magnusson, since this seemed like the kinda thing what would require some research. I reckon y'all will be getting a communication from The Wellerman in the near future.
Halleyway writing.
Pursuant the contract with Lt Commander Chiavallati of the 46th naval fleet, I have engaged in multiple visits to the Alaska system, a location which, although I am legally sharply restricted to speak of in detail, I have certain prior experience with.
In conversation with some of my former contacts at Juneau, I decided to invest some more time and pay visit to the Cold Lake supergate. The level of access clearance for which, one may crudely refer to as a "loophole", Detroit possesses by association.
For my efforts I have borrowed Dr Mylah Wayfi from R&D, a physicist who was of great assistance in my excursion. The supergate's functional alignment since the blackout leads to a system dubbed Earhart by its earlier explorers. It presents an anchor point to hyperspace tunneling in a manner which is not yet fully understood, but appears to be linked to an alien structure of immense mass and energy output towards its center. Said structure also presents a navigational hazard of incomprehensible nature, releasing targeted energy emissions in a manner that might be compared to weaponry, though on a scale and intensity not comparable to anything previously seen, human or alien. The system features countless wrecked vessels from different regions and time periods, somehow connected to the anchoring property of its structure.
Distant of the structure lies an array of alien gate structures, which fluctuate in their activity and occasionally provide opening into other star systems. There appears to have been previous study of some of these destinations, as we encountered old wreckages in our probing attempts. Concerns over becoming trapped should the phase alignment shift again kept our expedition short, but we have gathered samples from the journey and can confirm the presence of the vaunted chirally anomalous radiated materials which have made an appearance in research labs in Sirius.
In the close confines of the Propellant, I struggled to contain the excitement of Dr Wayfi. Her enthusiasm kept both of our senses of trepidation in check along the journey, which I admit was causing hesitation on my part.
I strongly urge the company to make greater investment in the exploration and potential exploitation of these systems. The hyperspace anchor allows other explorers access, and we cannot tell what use other researchers may already be making. It is of vital importance that we stay at the cutting edge in this regard.

Halleyway, excellent work. Stafford informed me that he recently accompanied the Akhetaten to Earhart via jump-drive, though the revelation that there's in fact a stable supergate leading there beyond Juneau is quite enticing. My own previous work in the near Omicrons prior to working with the company has me quite curious about all of this. Eka will help you wrap up this contract, and once the Forty-Sixth is satisfied, I want you to leverage everything we have to get better-than-loophole access to that gate. The materials in the Earhart anchor system are something R&D needs a steady supply of. Let me know if I can do anything on the internal paperwork side to make it happen.
