In IPB there is a feature that allows you to set a time limit for how long posts are shown.
I believe that this should be turned on and set for somewhere around 30-60 days. ... and if someone wants to make a continuous bounty... they have to PM an admin/moderator and have them pin it
also an alternative could be to make 2 bounty boards... a continuous and a normal... the continuous bounty board having all of the pinned bounties and the continuous ones.. and doesn't have a 30 day knockoff limit... and the non continuous one having a 30-60 day knockoff rate
As it stands, anything that doesn't get a bump or a new post in two months in the Employment Office gets deleted manually to free up space. I do it every month.
Pinning bounties has caused a mess in the past - it makes the board harder to read.

Lemme restate myself in case you missed this one, Athenian. It's easy enough, hell, I could make the thread and maintain it myself if you'd pin it. One more pinned thread, with links to all the blanket bounties, instead of numerous pins or no pins at all.

Missed that one. Go for it. Might be an idea to divide it by lawful/unlawful or by systems....you decide.
With the server being down and my holidays beginning I have a little more spare time. So I thought it might be timely to review the functioning of the Employment Office and Stock Exchange.
There seems to be no end to the killing being done for money out there, so that aspect of the Employment office is fine. Some threads are quite long - I know some of you like to keep all the posts in one of your bounty threads - but I'd ask you to consider having them cleaned up a little - maybe re-edit the original post to include the updated details of bounties, list participants in bounties, money earned - whatever record you'd like to keep.
I have an idea for the Stock Exchange - many players run arms dealers; we could pin a list of players who run weapons dealers with some contact information in the Stock Exchange. Details such as where they are located, skype details if you want. It would be a one-stop place to locate the nearest dealer. This might make it easier for people to sell small stores of weapons as well.

I would be in full favor of this. Maybe we could make it like the Laws of Sirius post, allowing each weapons dealer to post their stocks in a nice list with their info. It might be better than having a plethora of different threads for each "professional" dealer.

i would support having a pinned thread with links to all the arms dealers. ( mine included. )
but i would not suggest having a list of all the dealer's guns listed, given that our stocks change rather fast.

Though is would be rather arduous for Athenian or another Moderator to continually update the Arms Dealer's wares, it wouldn't be difficult at all for an Arms Dealer to update his own wares. They do it in the current format of the Sirius Stock Exchange now, and doing it in a different thread shouldn't be very different.
Just have all the dealers post in a "Famous Armament Suppliers" thread, like the Laws of Sirius thread. I don't see why it wasn't implemented before, really.
