In my opinion powertrading isn't that much of a problem.
It's just another name for the fastest money earning route, and if it wasnt the diamond Niobium run it would be the one in second place.
Such as the Deuterium, Engine Components run.
And if traders want a more RP experience then they can do that on other routes. But i can't see how you can blame people for trying to make money in less time when you're faced with routes that can take 15 minutes each way.
I just made this post so people could play in character, not just for profit...
It just happens that those people who don't rp as traders use the diamond/niobium route...
Hopefully this will deter some of the massive battleship market. their stocks are way too high, and we need to buy the smaller versions of craft to help out the local small businesses:D
Stop powertrading, start powersNuggling. It's much more profitable (I can turn over a decent profit in a large transport, f'r cryin' out loud) and also way more exiting (I'm never gonna get caught by the cops, but the risk is still there...).
Yeah, none of my traders run with anything but what 'm buying/selling in the hold. Why? 2 reasons. First, my traders are there to make money (zOmG, noez! A trader making money? Keel him!!), second...take a Zoner Juggernaught...how many crew members does that thing have? You're seriously telling me they have 2k max?
Oh, and NPC pirates stealing your food/water/oxygen/crew sucks.

I am at least somewhat in agreement with this. RP routes are best, but sometimes some powertrading can be ok. It's the *silent* powertraders who are bad. If you're still RPing on your route (and not doing anything really crazy), then things are good.
In conclusion, powertrading isn't the problem, it's just a good reference point to see problems.
The crew thing is kind of interesting though - is everything being scanned in your cargo hold or not?
